章節 174: Why Is Sheloah Involved?
>Kreiss' POV<
I am now inside the lobby with my cousin, Dannie and with my uncle John, Dannie's father. We're having breakfast together since last night's talk, I haven't seen Sheloah, Veon, Shannara and the others. Seems to me that they already knew that I am Sheloah's kidnapper and from our talk last night,, they wanted to know what my reasons are.

"Kreiss, explain why you did such thing. Bakit mo 'yon ginawa kay Sheloah," my uncle asked and I just shrugged my shoulders as my answer.
"Tito, I'm sorry pero…" I trailed off and I sighed. "Ayaw ko pong sabihin," I said and finally told my answer to him and he sighed in frustration.
"Edi kuya… bakit ka nandoon sa dating bahay natin," tanong naman ni Dannie and I looked at her seriously, and I looked at my uncle.
"Tito John," I called his attention and he looked at me.
His and Dannie's eyes grew wider when I got the gem from my pocket and showed it to them. "Why did you leave our family crest back at the house? Didn't your wife own this until she died? Why didn't you get it?" I had a lot of questions and my uncle seemed hesitant, looking at the floor.
Nilapitan ako ni Dannie. "Ang gem ng family," she said as she held it. "Kuya, hindi ba sabi nila ibibigay nila ito sa panganay na anak na lalaki tapos ipapasa sa magiging asawa nila," she asked and I nodded at her.
"Since ikaw yung anak ni Tito John, hindi niya maibigay sa'yo. Ang last na nakahawak niyan ay si Tita Elena, ang nanay mo, pero namatay si tita so bumalik kay tito," sabi ko and Dannie grew more curious as she looked at the gem.
"Hindi naman pwede sa akin kasi si mommy ang kapatid ng dad mo, kasal sa isang foreigner, my dad. Hindi pwede ibigay sa mommy ko kasi babae siya. Sa mga lalaki dapat. Hindi rin pwede ipamana s akin ng mom ko," dagdag sabi ko pa tapos tumango si Dannie.
Nilapitan ako ni tito. "So 'yan ba ang binalikan mo? Ang gem na 'yan," tanong ni tito and I hesitated at first before I answered. We just looked at each other and I nodded slowly as the answer.
"Why is Sheloah involved," dagdag tanong pa niya at bigla akong tumahimik. Ayaw ko yung tanong niya. Ayaw kong sagutin ang tanong niya.
I sighed and I looked back at my uncle. "Sabi ko po sa'yo, tito… I won't answer the question," sagot ko and he glared at me. "I'll only say this…" I trailed off and they both looked at me. "Sheloah is involved in my plan, but I won't tell her sole purpose," I said finally and my uncle sighed. Seems like he gave up on asking me.
"You punk… fine," sabi niya at tiningnan niya ako ng seryoso. "But you may have that gem," dagdag sbai pa niya at nagulat kaming dalawa ni Dannie.
"Dad why," Dannie asked, knowing the tradition of the family. My uncle just smirked at me.
"Wala na ngayon ang susunod sa generation niyo, Dannie. What's the use of this gem, there's a zombie apocalypse? Tradition is of no use now," sagot ni uncle sa kanya at tiningnan lang siya ni Dannie.
Nilapitan ako ni tito at kinuha niya yung gem kay Dannie at binigay niya sa akin. "It's yours," he added at tiningnan ko siya habang kinuha ko ang gem sa kanya. "Besides… it's a way of proposal to women for men in our family. I proposed to Elena by giving the family gem. But your purpose of wanting the gem and having the effort to retrieve it… I don't know your reason, Kreiss," sabi ni tito, with a little hint of sarcasm at tiningnan ako ni Dannie.
"What do you mean," tanong ko at nilapit ni tito ang bibig niya sa tainga ko at nagulat ako sa sinabi niya.
"Proposing in a zombie apocalypse for dear Sheloah? How childish of you in a very dire situation," pabulong na sagot niya sa tanong ko at lumayo ako sa kanya pero tumawa siya.
Ramdam ko na namumula ang mukha ko at si Dannie nakatingin lang sa aming dalawa. She doesn't know what we guys were talking about so she felt left out.
