On Angela's birthday surprise, it was only Alexis, Alfred and Chevre who were eating their sister's cake at midnight. Andrea and Lu Fang were in the study, talking to both Angela and Matteo over the internet. 

Andrea was sitting across Angela with her hands folded while Lu Fang had been walking back and forth. 

"How could you do this to us, Angela? Matteo? How could you not even tell us about this development between the two of you?" The man asked. He tried his best to tone down his voice, avoiding unnecessary rebellion from her daughter. 

"I'm sorry, uncle - "

"Dad, it was my idea. I'm sorry," said Angela. "It's just that I saw how you were closely monitoring Brie and Tyler that I did not want that for me and Matt."

"What?! - " Andrea was about to react, but Lu Fang stopped her with a hand.
