Out of the 5000 soldiers within the base, less than 1% of those troops did something unusual.
They moved efficiently and quietly behind the scenes and away from the others.
Less than 50 soldiers were moving around the base, making full use of their knowledge and patrol areas while eliminating those that got too curious about their actions.
Sadly a good number of attack dogs were taken care of as well, including the one that attacked another soldier under the command of the mind-controlled soldier.
But that didn't matter. It wasn't a part of their group, nor did it cost them anything. However, this made their supreme leader actually think of creating their own guard dogs for the base, the kind that he had made in the past leading to that world to receive their own set of werewolves and other mythical creatures just because he was bored at the time~.
Knives worked well for dealing with any other nosy personnel and curious idiots, and the now brewing snowstorm worked to suppress the noise made by their guns, which were only a few shots indoors!
The mind-controlled soldiers were trying to make their way to the nuclear reactor. However, the number of troops patrolling and guarding the area was too large for them to break through, and many of the critical regions held the most troops causing them to decide on a cruel decision.
Unlike in the game, there were more ways to implement simple strategies, and there was a good number of grenades in the armory~.
Thus, half of the mind-controlled troops armed themselves with five grenades each before moving to the key areas that held the most troops. The other half grabbed other explosives because they had another role to play, while some of them holed themselves into the seven armories within the base.
After taking control of the essential areas and a few backup plans to ensure their survival, Inessa relayed her order.
"Begin phase 1!"
With the countless experiences and strategies Mikhail passed to her, Inessa was going for a full attack with this scenario in mind.
Attack, distract the soldiers, divert them away from their areas with more destruction before delivering the rest of the explosives to the nuclear reactor~.
She had other plans ready should things don't follow the first scenario, from brute force to mind-controlling the troops until there were no more left, sure. It would be time-consuming, but her master's command prevented her from fully endangering herself.
So she had no choice but to remain in the shadows and the cold until this mission was complete while the others went to retrieve Hammer fist.
Inessa tested how the defenses worked beforehand.
From using random beasts and monsters to how far the range of each of the defenses was, she scoffed at the limits of each weapon as it was undoubtedly perilous to force their way through, but due to the limitations and lack of changes as well as upgrades to match this world it made her laugh devilishly upon discovering one significant weakness.
Something that even Mikhail suffered heavily from on his first few transitions.
Underground.
None of the defenses would detect an enemy should they pass under them~.
Now by combining that idea with the mind-controlled troops above to act as their compass and extra eyes.
How quickly do you think they can reach critical locations? Without getting detected? Without receiving any casualties? This came to show just how terrifying such attacks can be!
But enough of that, let the blood bath begin!
A series of explosions had erupted within the base, resulting in the loss of hundreds of troops that were around the explosions!
This brought chaos in the base as the soldiers ran around like headless chickens until one of the ruthless leaders blasted some unfortunate example's heads off.
But once wasn't enough, so this scene had to be repeated at least five more times to make the soldiers stop in fear for their lives finally.
"Fall in, you damn Maggots! all Sergeants, on hand, I want a sitrep on the body count of our people and the situation! we CANNOT let this base fall!"
Thanks to the quick reaction of the commanders, they were regaining control of the chaos, but this was also part of the plan since they remained out of sight earlier~. Such scenarios were something that Inessa had learned about beforehand.
A common strategy to follow when dealing with an army to obliterate it. You need to deal with the heads~.
One of the sergeants stepped forward with a gun drawn once it aimed for the highest-ranking soldier, he pulled the trigger.
*BANG*X??
The leader that calmed the situation down turned rigid then fell backward with more than half of his head missing before the other leaders followed with a bullet to their skulls!
The Culprit, with bloodshot eyes full of fear and anger yelled out.
"FUCK YOU AND YOUR BULLSHIT! THAT WAS MY BROTHER YOU KILLED!"
The crowd looked at him in silence some were prepared to lunge at him while the others were backing away not wanting to get shot next!
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
His gun quickly aimed at the people nearest to him causing them to back away in fear with their hands up.
He snapped from their glares as his finger started to tighten around the trigger again as the man added with a snarl.
"STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT! DON'T MA-GUH"
His sentence was cut off by one of the braver soldiers that snuck up from behind and delivered a blow to the back of the man's head, once he landed on the ground a few teeth went flying from the force and blood sprayed the floor from him possibly biting his tongue before others joined to stop the man from possibly shooting them next.
"Quick hold him down and grab the gun!"
"Beat his ass!"
"Fuck what do we do now? the commander is dead!"
"So are the liutenents!"
"dude, I think it was pronounced as lieutenants, not liutenents."
"Whatever that doesn't matter now!"
One of the soldiers declared with a grin.
"I'll be the commander of this base from now on!"
That simple declaration cause sparks of ambition to burst within the hearts of the others as they were originally just farmers and simple thugs with no one to control them of course, they'll grab everything they can for themselves to ensure their survival~
Thus a free-for-all suddenly erupted within the base as the smarter ones made their way to the armories and storage rooms to have a head start above the rest.
The scene of the panicking soldiers brought a smile to the psychic that was controlling the soldier as a telepathic message reached Inessa.
"Main commanders have been eliminated, the base is in chaos, all units are ready to proceed with phase two."
"Have our 'spare' soldiers distract the crowd while we begin placing all of their spare orbs into the nuclear reactor. I don't want to be here longer than needed!"
Her orders may seem a little hasty, but it was for good reason since it wouldn't be long before the higher-ups of this faction learn of the demise of the commanders of the base. When that happens, things will only get more complicated for Inessa's team, and they are supposed to stay off the radar until their master allows it.
More explosions occurred then the mind-controlled troops began acting as if they were staging a coup under the 'organization' named Avengers~.
Sure, the champions, transmigrators, and reincarnators would recognize that, but this group of people originated from this world.
Hence, the trick worked just fine, especially when Mikhail suggested such a name since it was already being used by some of his covert ops in other countries~.
The soldiers fired at each other with their SVT-40s as the 7.62 round bullets would quickly kill anyone foolish enough to try and tank it!
Blood bathed the floors and walls, ripped up remains scattered along the ground as the soldiers were forced to step into the mess to get closer to where more of those people that were part of the Avengers had bunkered themselves into, the armories!
The clash of attrition was in favor of the 'Avengers' due to them having ammo, other weaponry within arm's reach, and the fact that they were only here to keep the soldiers occupied~.
But the Soviet soldiers didn't know that, nor will they ever get a chance to share that knowledge even after learning it!
Inessa was frowning due to the fact that things were going too well, her mind was affected by her skepticism of Mikhail since every time things were going according to plan he'd always come across an obstacle that would shift his plans all over the place, the protagonists, main characters, important people of a world and many other such kinds of people or creatures would always ruin things.
Thus Inessa ordered her subordinates to scan the surrounding areas for spying eyes while remaining hidden.
The only reason why she felt such uneasiness wasn't due to the mission but due to the very person she had sent some of her people to escort to another location.
Hammer fist had fully become a monster due to the genetic changes his body had gone through helped accelerate the effects of the 'blood calling' as now the telepathic message finally reached her!
"Lady Inessa, Hammer fist is no longer salvageable, shall we dispose of him or lure him to the nearby kingdom?"
She rubbed her temple in annoyance before thinking of the best way to make the maximum profit from this.
Luckily for Mikhail was still keen on getting something to research~.
"lure him to the nearest kingdom of demons, this was his final wish anyways, when you can collect a few samples from him you'll get a chance when he comes across a few stronger demons."
She relayed his command to the mind hunters as they moved with more vigor since it was a direct order from the master himself! but then he left the girl a private message.
"Inessa, finish up on that base, you have been a bad girl~"
The first part made her focus more on how to finish the mission more quickly but upon hearing the last part.
Inessa's whole body shivered knowing the meaning behind his words and what was waiting for her when she gets back!
She couldn't help but wonder in a daze while subconsciously rubbing her thighs together.
"What was Mikhail going to do to her next~"
