The boy looked at her and then again at the bag, then again looking at the girl. The girl smiled back and kept her hand on the strap.
"So, Mike! What happened to your girlfriend? Why did she refuse?"
The man narrowed his eyes at her and she chuckled again.
"Ohk! Fine! First of all, that girl Emma, she was not even my girlfriend to be honest. We used to simply hang out together."
Stella looked at the man is surprise. She was sure that the man must be in his thirties, just like her. By this age, people have long crossed the 'just hanging out' phase. Other people also don't hang out with people in thirties.
"Now just do not look at me like that. See, I am not really a girlfriend kind of guy. When I could see that the girl wanted something serious from us, I ended it. I just can get serious in a relationship. Though, I was nice about it. But, yeah, I can not do girlfriends. I have not had a girlfriend since.....*Sigh*....since Molly. Anyways, I had forgotten that I had required a date, for this stupid wedding."
Stella pointed at the fourth finger that he had earliet raised in the air, as a fourth point.
