章節 13: 13 Way to say "sorry"
"Ok sir".
Then he opened the door and let me enter to the area where wall divides the costumers & staff's area. I followed him silently while he was greeted by the employees and he was nodding to them with that same smile plastered on his face. I wonder what position he is holding, with the courtesy and respect the employees showed for sure he is a somebody in this company.
We entered into another door. I looked up to the upper portion just above the door hoping to see a position title but there was none.
I noticed there were only two colors in this room. This office was white and huge. Even the tiled floor was crystal white. A symbol of purity & power. All furnitures and decorations were in red. There is a huge stunning red sofa on the side with a 40-inch tv on the wall. Was it a made-to-order tv? It was also in shocking red color. As I entered the room, I noticed the soft carpet I was walking at. A vivid ruby red carpet on a white floor towards a huge red table. Over all, so fierce and elegant. Whoever decided the color combination must be a person with pure heart and a passionate but dangerous lover. Red all around was so beautiful that no one could ignore every bits and pieces of its presence. It seems a warning sign all over. KEEP OUT! DON'T TOUCH! DANGER ZONE! FIRE!
Or my eyes are just exaggerating and my brain is complementing.
Richard directly sat on the red swivel chair opposite the red huge office table. So I instinctively sat on the available chair like an employee called by the boss. This is it! I shouldn't be intimidated by this room and aim my invisible gun towards my goal.
"Richard, why? "
"Sorry if it had bothered you Mia. It is just my way of saying sorry for being a bully when we were young. I just felt guilty and I thought I had an unfinished business with you so this would be a good way to express my regret for hurting you.
When we were young, I used to give you what I could only afford as a child. Chocolates, candies, fruits.... I wanted to give it to you personally but I was afraid you won't accept so I just put it on your doorstep."
