"Grandpa, can you please just eat." Grandfather Moon's pestering irritate Samer. He knew his Grandfather very well. He will pester Samer till he fulfill his Grandpa's wish.
"Sigh.. You are useless." Grandfather Moon complained.
On the other hand Ira chuckled lightly watching how harmonious the relation is between both of them. She has been living alone for so long and has already forgotten what it means to be with family. This realization suddenly made her emotional. Because now she is not alone anymore. She has them. She has her little happy family and she will always take care of them.
Hearing Ira's meek laughter warmed Samer's heart a little. She seems to be fine as compared to night.
These few days were normal for both Samer and Ira. Apart from their interaction in company, neither of them talked with each other much. Even the tension between both of them seemed to be eased a little.
It was Sunday and Samer was reading some business news on newspaper in the lawn while Ira was cleaning the bedroom. Though there were many maids and servants for taking care of all the home chores, Ira still preferred the work done by herself.
When Samer finished his reading he went into his bedroom. The room looked very neat and clean. All the things were on the same place where they were before. The only difference was that they were shining. Even his photos with Tina were all cleaned up.
Not a single belonging of Ira seems to be kept in his room apart from that old luggage of her which was still at the same place when she first came here. If you won't look at that corner, no one will think that she was also living with him.
Samer pursed his lips with this thought. He went into his study room to read some important documents.
He opened the drawer of the study table to search for the key of cupboard when suddenly his vision fell on something like envelope.
His heart skipped a bit when he realised what it is. He gulped mouthful of his saliva and with shaky hand picked up the envelope.
He opened it and took out one of the photo. The photo has a little girl of around thirteen years. She was serving noodles to the customer and she had a very innocent smile. He then took out another photo of the same girl who was smiling while having moist eyes, her right hand was bleeding while her left hand was carrying a tray of dish. She was wearing the uniform of waitress in that photo. The next photo he picked was the one in which she was wearing the same school uniform as him while standing just in front of administrative gate of the school. Her hair was braided into two halves and it was shining as if she had applied whole bottle of oil on it. She was kinda looking creepy in it. But the smile she gave made up for every flaws..
Samer held that photo tightly and stared at the innocent little Ira. He still remembered that day..
This picture was clicked by Samer himself. It was his first day in school after summer holidays. She came randomly while he was taking pictures of the fountain just in front of the main gate out of habit.
He remembered it very clearly how his heart started beating vigorously after finally able to see her again that day. After his embarrassing encounter with her last time, he didn't see her at all those places where he would always find her doing her chores. He thought that he would never see her again and was disappointed. He found himself missing her, though at that time he didn't believe that fact totally.
He even thought that he was dreaming so he looked repeatedly at his camera screen and then at her for few times before confirming it was really her!
He was about to go towards her and talk with her when Tina came running towards him. She wrapped her right arm on his left and dragged him towards the class saying "Always with your camera! Class is about to start. Let's go!!"
"Tina, wait!!"
He couldn't even finish but Tina already took him upstairs.
He sat on his bench inside the classroom looking outside the window but he couldn't see her.
Tina was his best friend since his childhood. They both were betrothed by their families. Even Samer always used to think that one day he would be going to marry Tina and hence he took extremely good care of her when they were together. It was another thing that he didn't have that feelings for her so he always gave her the freedom to love anyone she liked and he would take care of the rest.
Samer was lost in his thoughts when Tina came and sat beside him. Both started to chat and soon he forgot about Ira.
Suddenly, the chaos inside the classroom stopped and everything went silent. Samer looked at his surrounding to see what had happened.
And then he saw Ira standing awkwardly on the door. He could see how afraid she looked from her expression alone. She took her step inside the class and that again took Samer by surprise.
Everyone began to whisper with one another. Some laughed at her appearance while some mocked her for being country side bumpkin. For some unknown reason, he really felt bad for the treatment she was receiving.
No one let her to sit beside them as if she was dirty. Finally she settled herself silently on the back bench where no one was sitting.
The bold and daring girl that Samer saw last time was no where to be seen. Instead this time she looked weak without any confidence. May be the environment here made her feel like that.
He turned around to check if she was fine. It was then, her eyes finally met him. And looking at the stunned Ira again made Samer to laugh at her expression.
