Immediately after both of the new servants had introduced themselves, the rest of the staff followed after.
While most monarchs tend to kill off their political enemies, the ways that the Empress Regnant of China did it was quite... vicious, especially so with her secret police.
Zhang Wei started sweating as his head ran parallel against the concrete floor, his mind running rampant.
When he kowtowed, it was a subconscious reaction from rolling Ze Wutian back in his original world.
Call it an exaggeration or whatever, but he was genuinely happy when he rolled Ze Wutian.
Because her character designer and illustrator is Takehito Harada! The lead artist for the Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom games! His beautiful cel-shaded style is always a breath of fresh air for the beholder!
The bright and simple colors and the adorable characters like the Prinnies make it look as if they popped out of a fairy tale!
As a cultured connoisseur of fine art, it was only natural that Zhang Wei would be excited at Ze Wutian's arrival.
Though, he had a slight feeling that it wasn't just because of himself, the bodies previous owner might have something to do with it as well...
From what he saw before his head nearly touched the floor, it appears that female Master, Gudako, had summoned Minamoto no Yorimitsu, otherwise known as Minamoto no Raiko, or just Raiko.
Master Gudao, the male master with bright blue eyes and black hair, seems to have summoned Wu Zetian.
'Lucky ikemen.' Zhang Wei cried inside, but oddly enough, he felt fine.
Perhaps it had to do with the previous Zhang Wei's mentality, where the staffs only exist to serve.
Despite Zhang Wei's out-of-place immediate kowtow, he didn't think anyone noticed, especially since he was in the very back, covered by 18 other staff members.
Based on standard procedure, the Masters would introduce their servants to the facilities of Chaldea, from the cafeteria to the Servants personal room.
It served as an essential bonding activity for them since the Servant would protect the Master when they leave for singularities.
The way that singularities work is a bit odd. Singularities are events where the future is unobservable. Generally, it means that something that happened inside the singularity will lead to humanity's downfall.
Masters will use ray-shift technology to 'teleport' into the singularity and then summon 'shadows' of certain Servants to 'fix' the singularity.
Zhang Wei can go deeper, but he wasn't a Master so he wouldn't need to know the intricacies of how fixing singularity works.
'I'm just a janitor after all~'
That's right!
Zhang Wei was hired to be a janitor!
He was still counted as a staff though, and will have the staff benefits as well, not that the benefits matter.
Chaldea Security Organization is a 'closed-off' world, so it doesn't really have any outside contact, they do back up the Internet from time to time, giving entertainment to staffs and Servants alike, mostly Servants.
Zhang Wei could hear the high platform shoes walking past him, considering how they were in short intervals, it probably had to be Wu Zetian. He noticed that they stopped for half a second longer than usual before the sound of the automatic door opening overpowered it.
'If I'm correct, the next summoning is in a month. We're currently in the downtime between Shinjuku and uhhh... was it Agartha? Now that I realized it... Wu Zetian was released during Agartha; I guess this can happen because it isn't just a 'game' anymore.'
Zhang Wei scratched his head as he got up from the ground along with the rest of the staff. 'Then that means that a lot of stuff could happen, is that why the Goddess gave me [Time Loop]?'
The 170cm-tall janitor simply shrugged before walking out of the door along with the rest of the staff, with da Vinci being the only one staying behind to plug everything out correctly.
Choosing to not dwell on these matters, Zhang Wei quickly stood in line for the elevator behind the rest of the support staff. They lined up by priority, those who handled Chaldea's engineering and medical department stood in the front while him, the janitor, stood in the back.
'I don't think they understand the importance of janitors.' Zhang Wei laughed internally.
'The first line of defense between chaos and order is the janitor.'
If the place looked like a mess, then everyone would treat it as such.
Thinking about his janitorial duties gave Zhang Wei a small headache.
Generally speaking, most of the population of Chaldea were kempt; they cleaned up after themselves while trying not to make it harder for the staff.
But some Servants just don't care.
Especially some of the Alter Servants. 'Alter' is a classification for Servants who have been corrupted or simply put, a 'version' of them where they 'went the other way.'
'They don't even clean up after their mess, but someone has to earn their pay, right? Wait, I don't even get paid.'
Why would he need money in a 'closed-off' environment like Chaldea?
In his inner monologue, Zhang Wei realized that everyone had already left to their respective floors, leaving only him behind.
Or so he believed.
"Oh~? Were you waiting for the cute da Vinci-chan?" A clear voice rang throughout the empty hallway, as the sound of heels hitting the concrete got closer and closer.
Zhang Wei turned to the direction of the voice, realizing that it was his boss, Leonardo da Vinci.
"Oh, sorry, I was ju--"
"Nope~ I don't want to hear it~ I didn't know you appreciated fine art," She said as she rested her hand on her chest as she dawned a smug expression.
She pressed the elevator button, the door immediately opening as they both walked in.
"And here I thought you were just a lolicon~"
'Wait what? What happened in the past?!'
