After I set Lae up in the Living area I went to my new office to look over some files.
I then decided to take a look at the female prisoners. There are only three so that would be a good start.
Jillian was called to take me down to meet with them.
"This is Mary, she is here because she is a black widow. Killed 6 husbands before she was caught." Jillian said.
'Sit' I pushed. Mary sat down on her bunk.
"Hey who told you to sit?" Jillian said.
"No one something made me."
Jillian looked at me and I just nodded my head.
Next we came to Kimberly her file says she is a screecher. She can kill a man by scrabbling his brain with her voice. She had a mouth piece on that would not allow her to talk.
'Sit' I pushed. She did not move.
'SIT' I commanded and she sat down. wrote in her file that a stern command would be needed for her.
Last was a little old lady. I opened her file.
"This is Flora, She was one of the Duke's spies. She has been here since the beginning." Jillian says.
'Sit' The old woman sits on her bed.
"You are related to the Duke. I see his eyes in you. You have great power you could rule it all." She screams.
"He is my great Uncle. My father and Birth Mother are the ones that stop his rein of terror. So You should know you will never leave here with that attitude." I say.
Jillian walked up the stairs with me and out of this dungeon.
"Where's your new lover boy?" She asked.
"Jillian don't be like this. He got hurt yesterday and has to rest. I want you to be nice. You are an important part of my life and I want him to get to be friends with you too."
"Then give up the idea he is your true love. I can not except that." She says.
"Jillian, please you are my best friend. Please except this. He is worried about his sister and I was hoping you could be friends with her."
"Ok, I still just don't get it. But I will be nice to her for you."
I go back to my quarters to check on the two. I found Daisy reading and I noticed I could her the story as she reads. Lae was asleep so I carried him back to his bed.
He feels right in my arms. Then he opens his eyes. "Your awake. I thought you would be more comfortable in bed."
I lay him down. He reachs out to stop me from leaving. My heart skips a beat thinking he is excepting me but then maybe he just needs something.
"Do you need something?" I ask.
He shook his head no and smiled. This smile was killing me.
"Get some more rest. I'll have Daisy wake you when the food is ready." I said as I walked out if I did not leave now I would regret my next move.
"Daisy, can you go get our lunch now?" I say.
'Yes, be right back'
I pull out four more files to look over as I wait.
These four men have also been here since the beginning. Most people capture back then were executed. These men were spared because they help capture more of the Duke's men.
The woman I met would never be able to leave. I wondered if these men are the same.
It said they were given thirty years. All were model prisoners. I would see them next.
It did not take long before Daisy was back with the food.
"Take your brother in a plate then we can eat together." I said.
She happily made him a plate and then came right back.
"Tomorrow I want to take a trip into town. Would you like to go along?"
'Yes, Could I' She paused.
"What is it?"
'Could I get some money in advance to buy some more hair ribbons?'
"Yes, That can be arranged."
Her smile warmed my heart.
I leave her to finish lunch as I head over to the men's dungeon. I have the gaurds take me to the four prisoner I was looking for.
First was Joel. He was forced to join the army of the Duke to save his family. I could feel the remorse of what he had to do to survive. I asked him what he would do once he got out.
"I want to go back to my village and see my sister. She is married now with three grown boys. I would like to work with the land once more."
The Next man was Todd. He was now an old man. His family was killed by the Duke and he was forced to serve his army. He just wanted to see the sea before he died.
Next was Thomas I did not get a good feeling about this man just like the old lady earlier. When I told him I was related to the Duke he said he would follow me anywhere.
Last was Sampson. He was quite. He did not say much but I could tell his health was not very good. When I checked with the healers they said he did not have much time to live.
When I went back to my office I wrote a letter.
King Henry,
I would like pardons for three prisoners under my care.
Joel, Todd, and Sampson. They have been in this prison for 28 years and have shown that they have reformed.
Included with this letter is their files. I believe that keeping them here does them no more good and is a waste of money to house them.

I placed them in a mail carrier bag and sealed it. I then sent a guard to deliver it right away to the king.
I just hoped that he would listen to me on this matter. I had 12 more men to look at.
It was getting late and I knew dinner would be soon so I put my files away and went back to my quarters.
