章節 141: Everything is Clear Now
"I.. I.." A Lin wants to appologize to Han Han for kissing him that night. But she is hesitate to. It is not that she used to kiss any male friends of her. Beside Han Han, she only kissed Yu Jin. And Yu Jin is one she loves. So she is definitely not loving Han Han. But why.. the kiss felt right ? She didn't regret it at all. Even now. When she knows that the kiss arouse Han Han's courage to pop the question, she still doesn't regret it. So, she doesn't want to say sorry for the kiss.
"I see. Everything is clear now," A Lin is finally able to say something. She forces a smile while holding back her almost comes out tears. Why does it hurt to know that it is now clear between her and Han Han ?
"Hey, you two.." Mr. Bai's calling breaks up the silence between them. "Yes, Sir.." Both respond synchronously with surprised tones, as if they caught up doing something bad.
"I need to leave early as I have to shop for tomorrow. Don't forget to come tomorrow, okay. At my place at 12 PM. No need to buy gift. Your come will be enough gift for this old man hehehe..," Mr. Bai reminds them about his birthday's lunch tomorrow. After that, Mr. Bai starts to walks.
"Mr. Bai," Han Han calls him. While Mr. Bai halts his movement, Han Han approaches him. "May I bring a friend, Sir ?" Han Han asks in a low voice. "Sure," Mr. Bai agrees. "Thank you, Sir," Han Han says. Mr. Bai waves his hand then walks out of the room.

The door in front of her is opened and Xiao Ping's head is poking out of it. "Hi, A Lin. Come on in," Xiao Ping opens the door wider to invite A Lin inside. Once A Lin is inside she can see the interior layout has changed a bit. There is a large table in the living room surrounding by 8 chairs while the sofa and other furnitures that use to be there are pushed a side.
"Come quick, A Lin. We just put in the vegetables. It will be ready in couple minutes," Mr. Bai invites her to join them. A Lin approaches him, congratulates him on his 45th birthday and gives him the present she brought. "I told you no need to bring present. But thank you," Mr. Bai accepts it gratefully. A Lin then puts her bag on the seat beside Tian Tian before getting along with others to prepare the lunch.
"The BBQ is coming !" Yu Jin comes out of the kitchen with plates on each hand, both stackfull with BBQ meats. "Oh, Hi A Lin !" He cheerfully greets A Lin. She greets him back, helping him putting down one of the plate on the table.
"We can start now. Han Han will catch us soon," Mr. Bai says as all of his guests have sat on their places. After a short grateful prayer, and sing a birthday song, they start their lunch. It is a yakiniku and shabu shabu as their menu. In the middle of their feast the doorbell rings.
"I'll get it. It must be Han Han," Mr. Bai says as he stands up and walks to the door. As he expected, it is Han Han. Mr. Bai comes back to the living room with a gift on his hand. Behind him, Han Han is following. His hand arounds a girl's shoulders leading her to follow him.
"Hi, everyone.. Yu Jin-ge!" Han Han is surprised to see Yu Jin. He immediatedly approaches him and gives him a manly hug. "Are you not gonna introduce us to the girl ?" Yu Jin reminds him after they finish hugging. "Oh, yeah.. Right," Han Han goes back to the girl's side. "Everyone, this is Yu Mei. She is new in town. I promised her to show around the town today. So I bring her here to have free lunch before we date," Han Han introduces the girl. Yu Mei pinches Han Han's arm, shy of his shamelessness, but everyone is laughing. Well, except A Lin. She is too stunned to laugh.
The Birthday lunch is merry. Everyone eats and chats happily. Even A Lin can subside her awkwardness to enjoy the moment. She tries not to set a glance on the couple to her left side. Thankfully, Tian Tian's big body gives her a big favor on that. The young man who sits on her left is often covers her sight of the couple. She just focus on Yu Jin's funny stories when he was in the training camp and Mr. Bai's youth memories.
Yu Mei is also a shy girl, so she doesn't talk or act much. She doesn't show any intimacy gesture to Han Han neither. She only eats what Han Han brings to her bowl. She eats slowly as holding her hair to avoid being dirty. She stops eating after her second bowl, then she quietly waits until Han Han finishes, only answering few questions asked to her.
"You go to the same university as A Lin," Xiao Ping says then excitedly turns to A Lin, "that's great !" A Lin nods. "I thought I saw her once somewhere," she lies. Of course she recognized her from the beginning. Yu Mei's eyes spark a little. "Please, kindly help me in the future, Big Sister" she asks as bowing her head politely. A Lin is stunned as she doesn't know what to answer. "S..Sure," she can responds with that word.
After finished his meal, Han Han asks for apologize for must leaving early and skip the cleaning session. Yu Jin and Tian Tian make fun of him a little but eventually they let him go with a ripped tomato face.
"So, that is Han Han new girl.." Mr. Bai is the first one who lets out his mind. "Is it really ?" Yu Jin asks in disbelief. He then glances at A Lin with a meaningful look. The latter only shrugs. "I thought you two are.." Tian Tian's words are cut by A Lin, "No. We're just friends." Her statement muffles any comment that wants to be said by the three men.
