章節 2: The tavern and things there in
Esther walked into the dimly lit tavern. It had a yeasty smell of beer and bread. There was 2 old guys sitting at the bar drinking a light blue liquid that was foaming in their mugs as they drank it. Both seemed to be two sheets to the wind and Esther ignored them right off.
Hello young lady said the bar keep. What can I get ya? What do you have? Said Esther sheepishly. Awe we have ale, cider, Mede, wine or the ever popular deep blue sea. The foaming beverage looked refreshing but Esther didn't want to be out of her element for the meeting tonight. I'll have a cider said Esther.
"Do you know anything about the meeting tonight?" She asked the bar tender. "No I try to stay away from that part of town." Replied the bar tender.
"Ah ok thank you kind sir."
"Why are you going to the meeting young lady?"
"I am new in town and I have to pick where I want to be? I'm not quite sure."
"Where did you come from?"
"I am from a different colony. My mother died and I guess my father lives here somewhere. I was dropped off on a boat last night and told that I would attend the meeting tonight."
"Ah yes I guess you were selected to choose for the group, where you want to be placed."
"Why would they pick me to choose? I have only been here a day."
"They probably couldn't agree on who would represent them so they just picked you because you are new. You should see my friend Anna in town she will help you get a few provisions before you go to the meeting. It might make your choice a bit easier and less confusing."
"What do I owe you for the cider?"
"It's on me. Just make sure you pick what you want."
