Haruto returned back to his waiting room where his comrades were waiting for him. Right after he wanted to open the door (Fixed by Kaori's magic), it was opened from the inside and the girls' eyes met with him.
"Eh? Haruto-kun? You're here? Because you're taking too long we're about to go look for you." Kaori said a bit surprised.
"Is that so? Sorry about that." He replied.
"...Haru-kun you alright? Is something wrong?" Rikka noticed the sourness in Haruto's expression.
".... Well, I just happened to learn something unpleasant. I will tell you about it so let's go inside." He said.
The others weren't sure of what he meant but they nodded regardless and closed the room door.
....
"What!? That abomination!"
That was the reaction of the girls after Haruto told them the story he learnt on the talk with Haruna. How he was asked to withdraw from his next match, about her vengeance and the reason for it.
They were all showing massive fury towards the beastman prince. At first Haruto might have thought Haruna was lying in order to draw his pity and sympathy but it wouldn't work for him who could read the aura of a person. At everytime she was expressing her hatred and grief, Haruna's aura turned extremely chaotic, happened to people experiencing intense emotions.
He's also not stupid enough to be deceived by someone that easily ever since he was a child. His father always taught him and his sister to never be naive and careful against anyone, for some reason he was so adamant about it but Haruto was grateful to his father for raising them like this.
That's also why no one in here was doubting his story because they fully trusted his judgement.
"....Five years ago, there's a story of several villages and town being annihilated at the border of the northern continent." Selianna started recalling something.
"Annihilated?" Haruto arched his eyebrows.
Selianna nodded and continued her story,
"It was a monster assault, a great number of monsters were rampaging around the land. The capital of the dwarven was too far to lend a hand in time so the people there had to ask for the beastman's help on the north part of the eastern continent, being the closest."
The incident happened on the southeast side of the continent, it was very far from the main province where the capital was.
"Hmm, how come I don't recall any of this?" Lumina tilted her head.
"It's no wonder if you don't hear anything if you play around too much Lumina-san." Kaori retorted to her, it was obvious her easy-going attitude would make it hard for her to follow the world affairs.
"So? What happened next?" Fia asked.
"Yes. Naturally, as lending a hand regarding monsters case is a must in the international treaty, the beastman sent their support there. They were sending around a few hundreds of elite Hunters, the military force of beastman. But there's also some nobilities being sent for financial support and representative. One of them being the crown prince who was coincidentally staying near the area and volunteered himself." Selianna said.
"....Somehow I don't like where this is going." Asami frowned along with the others. The moment the crown prince was mentioned, they knew that's where everything turned wrong.
"The conclusion of the attack was the monsters successfully subjugated with a few villages and towns becoming victims but..."
"But?"
"There's a rumor of the crown prince staying in a rural village for a few days after the incident, that very village that supposed to be safe was suddenly destroyed without leaving a single living person around the time the beastmen were leaving the area.... But because it's just a rumor and didn't hold any credibility due to lack of witness, it was disregarded. The destroyed village was treated as a victim of leftover monsters."
"...."
Everyone became silent with their own thoughts. Haruto was recalling the bitter and despaired expression of Haruna when he asked about her family and relatives. He still didn't know if the story Selianna just told was related to Haruna or not but it was very likely as the incident happened in the dwarven territory with Erick being involved.
"....What are you going to do Haru?" Asami asked her brother. At the same time, the others also looked at him.
"....I already told Haruna that I won't give up the match and that if she wanted to have her revenge, she has to go past me. I don't intend to change my decision and will do what I think is right."
That was all he said without explaining further. The girls were a bit surprised on his thinking but didn't say anything. They knew what kind of person Haruto was and he must have his own reason but even if that's not the case they still won't say anything. No matter how they sympathize with her, Haruna was still a stranger to them. Furthermore, her situation was involving a member of royalty, not something they can carelessly laid their hands into. It was natural for a person to stay away from such things.
But for them, as long as Haruto decided he wanted to fight against the country itself, they would gladly stand beside him. Not because they went with the flow, but because they shared the feelings of contempt and disappointment against the beastman royalty, they're fully motivated.
Lumina was observing each person's expression with a glint on her eyes. It was unknown what she's thinking right now as she was only sitting with a faint smile on her face. She's also the only one not giving out any comments regarding this case, they didn't know what her opinion was and yet no one tried to ask as she's not officially the member of their party just yet to make her involved.
After some time of silence and small talks, the topic went to Haruto's recent match and each of their views on it. Excluding Selianna, all of them were mostly spent a lot of time fighting with monsters only so by watching the tournament, they gained some insights to further improve their combat ability.
Haruto himself was not that experienced in fighting people compared to fighting monsters so it wasn't only the girls who were benefiting by spectating the matches.
Time to time they would spar with each other but between sparring and a real match, there's a lot of differences in them. As of currently, the strongest member among them from strongest to weakest was Haruto, Kaori, Selianna, Rikka, Fia, and Asami (Elsie not included as she's not a combatant).
Asami was probably the third strongest if her summoning ability was considered. But her own combat skills were still too low with her magic still far from powerful. There aren't any expert magicians among them to teach her so it couldn't be helped. Kaori was not specialized in offensive type spells as her specialty was light magic, a healing and defensive type. Her only offensive spell was her unique magic Disintegration but that was her innate ability thanks to her special constitution, it was not a normal magic.
Haruto and Kaori was basically on par with each other despite the former being slightly stronger. If Kaori was truly serious in fighting, she was extraordinarily powerful, the reason Haruto could sometime wander around on his own was thanks to her existence protecting the other teammates.
No one could tell who will win between them if they fight in a death match or at the very least Haruto was still unsure of a definite victory. Besides, the apostle priest was also getting stronger day by day alongside him. Her efforts in training was very commendable as she never slacks off even a single day.
By this time, not even her original self in the series could contend against the her right now. Her hardworking character was also motivating the other members and they trained diligently together. Right now, there's Lumina among them and they saw this as a chance for some tips in becoming stronger.
But alas, although she was possessing absurd strength, her ability in teaching someone was at the level of Elsie that they couldn't help but made faraway gazes.
The topic of the talks once again changed to Lumina asking Haruto regarding Saiyans. He was expecting this because he just showed his transformation on his match.
"To put it simply, Saiyans are aliens." He said.
"I heard that from Lia-pon but what is an 'alien'?" Lumina asked.
"Aliens are foreign existences came from the outer space. You know about the moon right? Where Tartarus is located? It existed in the outer space and there's an endless of stars and planets scattered around the infinite space. Saiyans came from one of those planets." He explained.
"Wooww~ That's so cooolll!" Lumina's eyes were shining brightly.
It wasn't hard for her to understand because she already traveled many times to the outer space to visit the moon where Tartarus was and also the nearby planets but they always empty without living beings. Some of them were even a very harsh environment that she couldn't stand staying for too long. As it was not an unusual thing for Transcendents to fly outside the atmosphere, there's a lot of magic items to allow breathing there.
Of course Haruto was fabricating the story based on the original series, Saiyans did not exist in this world. He also learned from Eisha that the outer space in this world was only filled with desolate stars as decorations (The universe here was also not that big, perhaps only a tenth of Universe 7 in Dragon Ball Universe) so there really were no aliens in here, maybe...
Selianna and Fia was also making an "Ooh!?" face. They're not familiar with an outer space as they couldn't even fly right now. One day they hoped they could soar through the space itself to see it by their own eyes.
They knew Haruto came from another world so he must be covering some things especially to Lumina but they didn't mind that at all. In fact it was not because he wanted to keep a secret but rather because it was extremely complicated to explain starting from anime and manga.
"Oh right, so you're the only Saiyan now?"
Lumina asked. During this time, she already heard the gist regarding Asami and Rikka came from other world, it was involving her father too after all so they didn't keep it a secret. Naturally Lumina knew the reason why Asami told her they no longer blood related. It was also a wonder how Haruto could maintain his memory and yet regarded that as a rare case since she's not interested in that.
"Hm? As far as I know I should be the only one though." He tilted his head and nodded.
"Really? There might be others you know~?" Lumina said playfully.
"Maybe, but I don't think so." He shrugged. Although he seemed uncare but deep down he was also mulling the possibility. There's otherworlders that possessed power from their previous life but for someone with power coming from a lineage, it was a bit complicated.
In the case of Yomi for example, he was the reincarnation of Uchiha Obito and possessed the Sharingan but does that mean his body was flowing with Uchiha's blood?
Eisha said in such case their body would undergo a slight 'change' after their awakening to allow them to wield their previous life power without problem. That means, in Yomi's case, it wasn't his body possessing Uchiha's blood but rather it was his eyes that was being changed, a bit similar to Kakashi's case.
That's also why if there's a Saiyan reincarnator in here, they wouldn't possess the Saiyan bloodline like him. What they could do was only the Great Ape or Super Saiyan transformations based on their previous life so it wasn't possible for them to learn a new form their past life couldn't do. Based on how rare Super Saiyans were, it was almost impossible for there to be a similar being like Haruto. Even if there was, they wouldn't be a 'Saiyan', just an imitator.
'Hmm, another Saiyan huh.....'
The thought of it somehow made him feel some kind of a strange feeling for some reason, like a foreboding. He discarded his thought soon though as there's no use in thinking too deeply.
What he must do for now was what in front of him. He still had some things to do and the match coming tomorrow was the first thing to be done. He already decided on what to do so he will do it without hesitation.
