章節 4: Their eyes met just for a second

"Madam Noor will you be having dinner right now or you will wait till the master arrive from work?" Nancy came out of the kitchen while Noor was watching a movie while chilling on the sofa. "I am not really hungry right now you go ahead and eat. You've been working all day you can eat and go to sleep", Noor replied with a smile. "How can I eat before my masters? And if not me then who will serve both of you with dinner?" Nancy enquired. "You are a human too, you need rest and food. Don't worry I can do these chores myself", Noor assured. "But madam…" Noor put down her foot and straightened her back. "No buts... I am the young madam of this house, consider this as my command", Noor said with a domineering voice. "Ok madam whatever you say", Nancy said with a smile and returned back to the kitchen.

The clock struck 12 when Jimmy entered the house with a suitcase in one hand, coat hanging on the other, loosened tie and shirt out of his trousers. He came into the house with a smart lock at the main door, changed his shoes, wore a comfortable pair of sleepers and closed the door behind him.

Nancy was dead asleep in her room but Noor woke up at once when the door made a clicking sound. Jimmy took a glance at the clock and noticed it was quite late. Noor walked up to him and offered "here, let me take that briefcase and coat". Jimmy handed over the briefcase along with the coat to Noor. She took and placed it aside on the couch. She walked over to the kitchen slab and filled a glass with water and handed it to Jimmy. While sitting on one of the chairs he drank it all in one go.

"Where is Nancy?" he enquired. "She was working all day so I asked her to eat and retire to bed early", she responded back. "Have you had your dinner?" he asked. "No I was not hungry", she replied with her eyes down. He handed the empty glass back to her. She took and placed it back at the kitchen counter.

"I will heat up the food for you until then you go and freshen up", Noor said while taking food out of the refrigerator. "For us…" he took a glance at her and commanded. She looked at him and their eyes met just for a second.

He came back after 15 mins to the kitchen; Noor was stirring chicken soup at the counter. Jimmy asked, "Tell me what I should do?" "Please wait at the dining table I will be there in just a min", she responded back with a smile. "No, let me help", he took the spoon out of her hand. She trembled under his touch and slightly pushed his hand away. His hand touched the hot utensil he jumped from the sudden pain he felt. She got scared and took his hand in hers to look at the injury.
