章節 1: You look in a daze
Sunday 2008, 11 AM
"Noor… tell your sister we'll be going to a dinner party tonight, decide what you guys will wear, I don't want to hear you both deciding it at the last moment", a voice came from the kitchen. "Cool", Noor responded. "Di… I will be wearing a pink shirt you can wear anything apart from that". "Fine I don't care what you wear tonight as long as you don't bother me", Shelly responded from another room with a grin on her face.
"AJ, what are you doing, turn the volume down, your election news really bothers me", Rama asked. Ajani turns the television off and picks up a newspaper instead. "Ah... Noor your mother really knows how to spoil a Sunday morning", Ajani sighed. "Hehehe..." Noor giggled at his father's statement.
8 PM
"Ajani, Rama, you came at the right time, everybody is in the main room. Go make yourself comfortable. Take the kids with you I am going to get some starters for everybody", Gigi pointed to the door. "No, di let me help you in the kitchen", Rama asked. "Really! Thank you, Rama, I was already exhausted and at my age, it's difficult to make a meal even for myself", Gigi walked towards the kitchen holding Rama's hand and the others go to main room directly.
The food is served, everybody is talking, giggling, having fun.
10 PM
"Tell me which ice cream should I get for everybody", asked Mr. Ahota. "You can get 3 Tubs of butterscotch", Gigi Ahota responded. "Little Noor will you come with me to the nearest ice cream store? I will buy you an additional cup of ice cream", Mr. Ahota proposed. "Yes I will eat chocolate one I love chocolate, I'll go tell mummy about it", Noor ran a happy walk to her mom.
Noor and Mr. Ahota drive to the nearest store and buy ice creams for everybody.
"Uncle it's so late, the street is nearly empty, everybody has gone to their home, right na..". "Ah yes, you are so smart, you know uncle loves you very much, you are my favorite", Mr. Ahota responded with crescent eyes. "Now eat before your chocolate ice cream melts…"
Present time 2019
"Hey! You look in a daze, are you okay?" he asked. "Gazing night sky gives me peace ", Noor murmured softly with a smile. He gently giggled at her response. After all, she was opening up with him.
He took her hand firmly and said, "You look beautiful when you smile, you should do it more often, or we should come to this balcony at this hour of the night just for your smile".
"Tell me what you were thinking just now", Jimmy asked. Being her husband he was worried for her. Noor doesn't realize how depressed expressions she gave as Jimmy became more worried and asked: "Are you ok, Noor?"
She responded "I am sleepy" and left him alone in the balcony.
While she was lying on one side of the bed he came and like every other night, placed pillows between them and slept.
But she was still awake thinking about all those years. Back when he was in her life, he who left a deep dark hole in her heart.
