"How did you meet?" Niel was conspicuously curious.

"That's not important," I mumbled in annoyance.

"So selfish," Elthon remarked, "You wouldn't have an heir if you stay like that-"

"Adopt," I cut him.

They both looked at me with wide eyes.

"Adoption? Are you crazy?" Niel gulped his tea and poured in some more, "You're just giving away your fortune to somebody that isn't related to you in any way?"

"That's my final decision," I stood up and left them both in disbelief.

I stayed in my room all day and waited until the swelling of my face subside.

Some concealer hid my bruises well and after, I found myself busy once more within the corners of my office.

Deo entered and handed me the documents for the renovation of the chapel and convent, "These papers are up for signing."
