章節 30: FLASHBACK - Game On

Kate was still sitting on her bed, thinking about all the events that had happened. She needed a point to start with, from where she could poach her prey and yet she will be safe. Kate's eyes suddenly turned sharp as if Satan had possessed her. If anyone would have looked at her now they would have probably wet their pants. Kate decided to start with the person who seemed to know a lot of things, Ashton's sister. So as to know what exactly happened, Kate decided to act normal as if she had not heard anything from his sister and continue their relationship like nothing ever happened. She decided she won't trouble Ashton too much orelse he'll have doubts on her. The only way Ashton would start telling her something would be when he trusts her, and for Kate that shouldn't be a problem as Kate looked like a harmless little kitten. Only 'that' person knew how ferocious Kate could get, even Kate herself didn't know that.

And then Ashton's sister, Kate had a feeling she had seen her somewhere. But she couldn't remember where, but then in the afternoon she saw her photo in a TV commercial, she checked up her name online on her phone and realized her name was Jennifer Bloom.

'Oh, they don't have the same second name? And she works in the entertainment industry. Interesting' thought Kate to herself. If someone had to define Kate's mode right now, it would be 'Instant Kill'.

'Now that I know her name and her profession, digging up some dirt wouldn't be so difficult.'

Kate immediately pressed the button beside her bed and after a moment a nurse came inside.

"Yes?"

"Umm actually my body is going numb from just laying here, can I go and take a walk around the hospital itself, Please!?"

"I'm sorry, that won't be possible. We have strict instructions not to let you move around. If something happens to you we'll be responsible for the closure of this hospital."

"Closure of this hospital? What?"

"Oh... it's nothing. Just that you can't go outside."

"Okay, can I atleast buy some books from the hospital bookstore please!!!?"

"You can write down the name of the book on a piece of paper and we can send someone to get them for you."

"I don't have any particular book in mind so I'll go and check. Please!!? Please don't say no.. you can accompany me, just for 10 minutes please!!!"

The nurse thought about it for a moment and then nodded. Kate immediately sat up from her bed and wore her slippers, tied a messy bun and went outside her ward, to the bookstore with the nurse.

Inside the bookstore, Kate started looking at all the different genres of books - ' Action, adventure, mystery, thriller, medical, psychological, programming... '

Kate immediately picked the book on programming and flipped a few pages. Her eyes immediately shined and she put the book in her basket. Then she picked up a few books related programming and some romantic novels. Kate didn't actually like romantic novels but she had an idea that Ashton might come to the hospital to see her and if he sees her reading programming books he might get suspicious. She then paid for the books and left the bookstore with the nurse and came back to her ward. She laid on her bed and opened the first page of the programming book and smirked.

'Dear Ashton, my love, game on'
