章節 15: Questions

I storm through the elevator doors and into the house and watch as the lights come to life. Chip connects to the house as I rip off my outer jacket. I throw it on the sleek couch and look at my wrist. I hiss at the sight. This isn't right... he's not right.

Right where his large hand wrapped around my smaller wrist was a marking.. and by the looks of it, it looks like it goes all the way around and connects like a ring. The design was like something I've never seen and under different circumstances I would even admire the thing...

I walk over to the kitchen and turn the water on. I stick my wrist under the water and rub but nothing happens. I kinda figured it wouldn't but it couldn't hurt to try. "What did he do?" Chip ask as I sigh and turn the water off.

"I really don't know but there's now a mark.. I can't get it off and I don't know what it is or what it means.." I lean against the refrigerator as I try to make sense of everything that just happened. "Let me do a scan of it and see if I can find anything." Chip says but I'm already moving.

I power walk over to my computers and boot everything up. "Chip... I want you to pull up the moment he "poofed"..." Chip pops up on on of the screens and gives me a weird look but says "One second." Not even a second later I was looking at the scene all over again but this time on the screen.

I hit the play button and watch him disappear from the other side of the room only to reappear right in front of me. I stop the feed and rewind it. I play it again and slow the feed down and again watch as he disappears... I watch as he slowly appears in front of me out of thin air and again notice the embers that slowly disappear once he re appears.

"Holy shit.." I say leaning back in my chair as the feed continues to play. "As far as I know.. humans cannot do that." Chip says and I snort. "Thanks Chip.. that's extremely helpful..." My mind tries it's best to make sense of the whole thing but it just can't.. what happened... was not NORMAL.

"I'm only trying to help..." Chip says and makes a pouty face. I smile and stick my wrist out and he smiles. He does a quick scan and begins his searching. I look back to the screen and rewind it until it's back to him re appearing and freeze the video... "What are you?" I ask under my breath as look back to the markings on my wrist.

What was this.. and what did he mean by doing this? I touch the mark but I feel nothing. I look back to the screen and shut it off. I don't care how attractive the man is.. he's trouble and I need to stay far away. I cringe thinking about my bike but it's a necessary loss... I can't beat him and I don't know what kind of voodoo shit he's got up his sleeve.

I pull up a site with multiple motor cycles and I want to cry.. they all look good but they aren't my baby! I shut the computer screen off and push away from the desk. "Notify me when you find ANYTHING on the markings... and continue the research on our next target. I'm going to take a shower then I'll be out to help." Chip beeps and keeps searching and gathering.

That's what he was best at.. well he was the best at multiple things but I made him with that in mind. I equipped him with everything I know and he continues to grow on top of that so no matter what... no one can out hack him.. No matter what trick they throw at him he learns and counters. It's the ultimate system and ultimate companion.
