100% Sweet Ghost Wife / Chapter 4: Awkward Dinner [1]

章節 4: Awkward Dinner [1]

Dinner was being cooked as Kang and Carson simply sat on the couch. They were not communicating and Carson was just fine with that. Kang was perfect with them not speaking to each other. Kang gazed at the ground, about to cry again. She suddenly felt a brush of a cold hand on her shoulder. A shiver had been sent down her spine, but she wasn't alarmed. She closed her eyes to give herself and the spirit some peace and quiet. What do you want? She asked mentally. She didn't want to let Carson think that she was insane.

I'm Carson's and Jessie's father, Jet Li. Carson is not so bad, once you get to know him. The spirit offered Kang. Kang then shook her tears away.

The way he's treating me is awful compared to Jessie. Kang told Jet. Jet was shocked at this. He taught Carson how to treat a lady, but Carson was doing it all the wrong ways. Jet bristled in anger, but he couldn't do much as a ghost. That damn son of mine! I taught him how to treat women! He thought in anger. Kang got up from the couch. "Where are you going?" Carson demanded of the white-haired beauty.

"I'm going outside to get some fresh air," Kang answered Carson, but Carson grabbed her by her arm.

"You're not going outside," Carson tells Kang. "It's dark out and I'm not risking you running away," he accused Kang. Kang stared at the ground and she pushed Carson away from her. Jet Li was angered by his son's behavior.

"Whatever," she sneered at Carson and Jessie almost snorted when she saw the sneer on Kang's face. She laughed a little when she saw Carson's surprised face.

"Carson, not all women like being controlled. You are controlling and it's not healthy," Jessie tells Carson, but her words just went out his ears. He needed to control the one woman he could control so she wouldn't be like his stepmother.

"She has to obey me. I'm the man and she's just a woman," Carson tells Jessie, shocking Kang.

"Am I an object of possession to you?" Kang asked. Jessie glared at Carson.

"Honestly, I want to sell you to a freak show right now. You claim you can see ghosts and you have white hair. You are a freak," Carson tells Kang. Kang took his cold words to heart and she stopped trying to make peace with him, because obviously, it wouldn't work. Kang just shook her head at Carson and she sat back down on the couch.

Carson didn't seem to care about what he had said, but Jessie did care. "Carson, come here!" Jessie shouted. Carson obeyed Jessie. "Yeah, where's that bullying attitude you had with Kang now?" Jessie demanded of Carson.

"She's not worth my time," he responded.

"You forced her to marry you," Jessie shot back with a cold tone. "Don't forget that," she spoke to him. You're not worth her time. Jessie bristled in anger when she saw Kang's tear-filled eyes. She resisted the urge to punch Carson in his head.

"I have to keep her safe, don't I?" Carson questioned weakly. Jessie started to sputter out curses at Carson.

"What you're doing is not keeping her safe! That's keeping her controlled!" Jessie shouted at Carson.

"Maybe that was what Dan should have done to you," Carson said without thinking. Jessie paused, hurt in her eyes.

"He was my husband and you took him away from me," Jessie's voice sounded like poison dripping into a plate. She turned away from Carson to finish cooking and the young man was confused, but angry. I was saving her. Why is she so mad at me? He wondered.
