She closed her eyes to the sound of roaring waves hitting the beach and created a harmonize sound together. The music of wave blended with the soft salty breeze, teasing her skin and blew her hair. It brought the serenity onto her beating heart. Far away, she heard seagull screaming maybe to find a way back to the family.
Family.
Kahina smiled. She wondered what they were doing right now. Kaede must be in the office swamped with papers and documents while Keito wrapping himself around women at the casino happily partying all night. She shook her head. She had two brothers with different personalities yet they click together. And father must be in the garden feeding the fish like always. Mother, well somewhere around the globe. She missed all of them.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't drag you into this."
The deep melodious voice rang in her ears, forced her back to the balcony of massive villa. She locked her gaze into his frowning face. Chuckled to the troubled face he had. She had the urge to tease him but right now they must behave to maintain his image as The Slayer. It wouldn't seem scary if they saw he flustered because of an excessive tease.
Dillan was an alias he used in his early age, so the immature mind of a young man alone was to show off the power and control he had. Raised in a vicious society, he picked up a few things along the way as he thought would be the best option to finish the task. But gradually, he grew tired of it and decided to come back to Japan and have a fresh start again. A fresh start was just a myth. Upon his arrival, thousands of men ready to serve under him welcomed his return. The legend of Dillan reached Nobu and before he could grasp the situation, Nobu chose him to be the next Oyabun. And after that, everything was history. He already conceded his dark fate and hoping time will heal his sorrow heart when his dream of normal life seems far to hold.
Now, look at the angel showered in the moonlight and grazed by the sea breeze. The salty breeze touched his tongue yet only sweetness he can taste. The unbelievable carefree woman forced herself to his life, breaking every wall he built inside and shone him with the light of hope he once forgot. As hesitant as he is, he was like firefly attracted to the light, hard to resist although he knew his firefly instinct will bring danger to him and worst, to the source of light itself.
"Yeah... You should take responsibility and marry me." She leaned closer to him with a naughty smirk. She expected him to be flustered but instead, she was the one who flustered unexpectedly. A sudden movement he made zeroed the distance between them and a warm hand caressed her head before landing a kiss on her forehead. He watched her long curl eyelashes flapped and gave her the sweetest smile.
'What the hell? Where did he learn all these???!!!'
Bum! Bum! Bum! Bum!
The heart was thumping loudly inside her causing her blood to rush to the face and turned red rapidly. Loss of words, she hid behind both of her palms.
"Err... Boss... We are ready..."
Upon hearing Lolita's voice, she glared at him dissatisfied. Touma knew she still not done playing around, so does him but it can be postponed to another time. Now, they need to focus on Alana Mahoe.
They walked together to the long big table in the middle of the room. In front of them was a big screen full of information with the face of Alana on it.
"Layla, start." Kahina immediately walked to the big screen ready to present the information on it to the group. Layla is an alias Touma came up for her for this mission. It's lame but she let this one slide if this happens again. She promised she will not let Touma decide for her again.
She scanned the people in front of her one by one unhurried. The Lolita, the Silver Man, and Touma.
Touma wanted to include both of them in their plan and he revised everything from scratch again. She impressed with his adaptability to the changes. Everything seems so easy for him yet she didn't understand why he complicates their relationship with so many dramas.
"Our target is Alana Mahoe. Well, I'm pretty sure you know her. The problem is that her product entered Japan's market and Dillan doesn't want that. So, we need to destroy them. To do that, we must find their ledger book." Kahina paused for a while,
"Next week is Alana's birthday, and she always throws a big party with a lot of celebrities. That is our way in."
Everyone in the room nodded. Kahina passed a file to each of them and took a seat beside Touma.
"Err... excuse me, Miss Layla. I can't cook for a thousand people. It's crazy." The silver man shrugged and shook his head.
"You are not going to. Just hire a cook. We will go as soon as we find the ledger. The main priority is the ledger."
"You can't, Kaamu?" A deep chill voice and the sharp glare stopped the silver man's intention to complain. He nodded profusely in reply with invisible tears flowing through his cheeks.
"Good. Anyone else?"
Kahina smirked to his question. Asking people with that scary voice, how can people complain some more? Suddenly, a naughty thought came to her mind. She rested her head to his shoulder and put a meek expression.
"Dillan, can we go shopping tomorrow? I need to find some dress for the birthday?"
She ran her finger to his chest in circles and then showed her puppy eyes to him. Ignored the shock from two souls that were watching them. Their jaws fall down when Touma did nothing to stop Kahina but nodded in return for her demand.
Even though they still saw zero of emotion in his face but the gesture he did, meant something else. The Dillan they knew would never agree to spend time shopping with a woman. Plus, she can have her way as easy as pie to make him agree, making them doubt either he is real. Dillan was allowed no one to touch him let alone acting like a spoilt cat with him. A lot of women have gone to hell before when they tried to seduce him before but yet, this woman before him today doesn't have the slightest fear in her eyes.
"Yes! Let's go on a date tomorrow!" Kahina jumped happily after left a peck on his cheek.
