After Gu Mian lay in bed for a while, she quickly sat up, opened the drawer of the nightstand and took out a bottle. She unscrewed the cap, poured out a pill and put it into her mouth right away. She swallowed it immediately without even drinking water.

The bitter taste spread from her tongue to her throat and eventually numbed her heart. Gu Mian turned and was about to put the bottle back into the drawer. When she raised her head, she spotted Tang Zui standing at the doorway and staring at her.
