章節 88: HE WALKED AWAY FROM HER
Xiao Jun looked at Qianru in puzzled, her voice sounded so rigid and aloof.
It wasn't his first time to leave her alone and she had never complained about this or gave him a cold shoulder like what she did now.
Qianru didn't look at him at all and it was unusual of her to act that way, he felt like his heart missed a beat.
Her smile that had never faded away whenever she saw him, was not there, her lips remained shut into a tight line.
Xiao Jun opened their chamber door and let Qianru entered after he dismissed all the servant and the guards.
"What happened in the palace?" He asked while locking the door behind him.
Whether Qianru didn't listen to his question or she really didn't want to answer it, but the woman ignored him completely.
She was so strange.
Xiao Jun just left her for three days and the moment he comeback, his wife had almost turned into someone else.
"Qianru." Xiao Jun took big strides to approach her, he held her arms and urged her to look at him. "I am asking you, had something happened in the palace?" His voice laced with concern as his eyebrow knitted together.
He was about to enter the palace the moment he had returned when he knew Qianru agreed to attend Zhao Tianqi's invitation, but Liu Wei told him that she had left the palace earlier.
Qianru finally looked at him with her beautiful eyes, but they didn't hold any gentleness, the thing that Xiao Jun adored the most from her. Instead, those eyes exuded coldness.
"Tell me." Xiao Jun cupped her face as his heart grew wary. "What they did to you?"
Qianru rested her palm on the back of his hands and subtly pushed him away. "Why you should care about what had happened to me in the palace?" Her voice sounded hoarser than she thought.
"What do you mean with that?" Xiao Jun looked at her in confusion. "I am your husband."
"If you are my husband then start act like the one!" Qianru shouted angrily.
The knot in her heart tormented her, she wanted to let it go, so she could feel better. But, it was only worsening.
Qianru felt wrong for shouting at Xiao Jun, but she couldn't help it.
This was the first time she raised her voice at Xiao Jun. No matter what she had been through the moment she chose to be with him and no matter how much he had disappointed her, Qianru would never show her dissatisfaction.
She loved him genuinely, but it seemed her love wasn't genuine enough.
After all the years they had been together, Qianru wanted more. But, her past trapped her, only when Xiao Jun started to warm up with her, she was dare to let her hope grew again, but seemingly it was still her wish and this made everything more complicated for her.
"If you can't, stop giving me false sign that you want me!" Her shoulder heaved as she panted, this feeling was too much for her.
And for her surprised, Xiao Jun didn't even bother to rebuke her words as he walked away from the room.
