Yao Xi walked through the huge mahogany door, panting heavily, and on her forehead appeared shiny droplets of sweat. Normally her body was not that weak, but now she felt like she was running a 10-kilometer marathon. It was definitely too early for her to go for such walks. An unpleasant thought flew through her mind that if she wanted to get out of this house anywhere, she would have to really work on her physical form. Li Ye Han would never have even given her his bike, not to mention the car.
Sigh, Yao Xi gave a deep sigh, crying inwardly over her bad luck.
Yao Xi crossed the threshold and found herself back in the spacious lobby of Li Ye Han's villa. Nothing has changed since she left this place a few days ago and went to Ruo Yan's birthday party.
The interior was still luxurious and lit up with too much artificial light, even though the windows from the floor to the ceiling, through which the warm rays of the sun were falling.
Yao Xi spent seven years in this villa, but she could never come to terms with such senseless power consumption. She tried to do something about it several times - especially since she spent most of her time all alone here and did not need so much light - but did anyone in this house ever consider her opinion? No one.
Even if she was the wife of Li Ye Han, she never had the right to speak, even in something as trivial as light bulbs. Nobody has ever met even the smallest request of Yao Xi over the years. Even the tea she had to do herself if she wanted to drink. Not to mention the meals she always did alone, and when she was cooking, the whole service openly ridiculed her, calling her "Ms. Li" ironically.
It was painful and humiliating to be treated that way, but what could she do? If Li Ye Han did not give his permission, nobody would dare even look at her inappropriately.
Yao Xi could only bear everything calmly. She was so stupid, thinking that Li Ye Han would finally see her honesty. She did a lot of housework that should be handled by servants, only to make Li Ye Han understand that she did not care a little about all this luxury. She had two healthy hands, she did not need anyone to help her, or to serve her. She was washing windows, scrubbing toilets, and even mowing the lawn in the garden without a single word of complaint. Not because she knew that the service would not help her anyway, but because she stupidly believed that her hard work would finally be noticed. Unfortunately, it did not happen ... And Yao Xi still in the eyes of Li Ye Han could not even match his dogs.
Now Yao Xi remained indifferent to everything that concerned this man. He wanted to waste money on electricity? His case. He wanted to let the servants mistreat her? Free way. He only had to know first that Yao Xi, who had been letting it so far, had already died. There is no longer the naive girl who blindly believed in the power of love. Long time ago, Yao Xi met with a certain sentence that she did not understand then: "Disappointment opens the eyes, but closes the heart." She did not believe then that anything would change her feelings. As long as she's hard at work, she'll always hope she'll ever manage to capture a small part of Li Ye Han's heart. And this faith brought her destruction.
This time, she will not allow herself some nonsense. Now she will be guided by another sentence: "If you can count, count on yourself." It means that she alone will never fail. Only Yao Xi will never betray herself, she will never hurt herself.
With this motivating thought, Yao Xi entered the living room with her chin raised, ready to face the devil.
