章節 11: 11.Small Heaven
Walking around looking for fruits and vegetables gave es an even clearer view of our surrounding.There was more animal around than we taught.We could see rabbits and sort of wild chickens.We saw as well hawks and eagles floating in the sky and with high speed the went down to catch those smaller animals.
Usually the would hide between the bushes as they are plenty of them near the lake.That is one of the reasons we couldn't see them.But it was ok.The cats followed us and suddenly started running into the bushes.
One of them came out triumphantly having a mouse in her mouth.The other two came back with their prays as well.My head started hurting. Usually they never hunt or go far from house.But here they are getting all crazy.At least I don't need to worry about their food intake for the next few days.Luckily there are more things to eat ,not only fishes.
We slowly made our way toward one side of the mountain.The trees were maybe sporadic but the fruits were plenty on them.Citrus fruits?Near the waterfall?Is that even possible?Well I am no gardener but I never heard oranges, lemons and mandarins being so close to so much water.Is that the reason that those oranges had the size of honey melon.Wait second there are peaches as well and on the side, I could see plums and cherries.
The orchard is here but why do those look at least 3-4 times as normal size?i picked up a plum that fell on the floor and the heavy smell engulfed me.I guess it fell days ago and the sun made it turn into alcohol.I chuckled. What if I ate this ,would I get drunk from it?
I let the plum back on the floor and stared at something near the wall. Whaaaat?Strawberries?Omg. And the size was not as big as that from the production field and not as small as those wild ones out the wood.It was somewhere between.I put one into my mouth and the taste exploded into so many flavors. It had sourness and taste of wild strawberry but the size was as well about the 3-4 times of its normal size.I started wondering.Is it because it grew up in perfect conditions?
I called Chi Chi to me and took a smaller container to gather as many as I could.In the container it won't get squashed.If it gets squashed at least we could make some natural juice or something.We gathered other fruits as well.The backpack was already half full and we set off to find vegetables.
While strolling and looking at the different plants,shrubs and trees, we realized that most of the plants near the lake were edible.
It got lots of pressure of our back.We found even peppers ,tomato, sweet potatoes,corn and many other things.We even found bread trees but we choose not to touch it as we didn't know how to deal with the bread tree fruits.I know ,usually just eat it, but fruits of this tree were humongous so we gave up....Who can eat that much food?
We went back to the camp and cooked lunch.I choose to have a little siesta.I am not tired or something but I am on vacation.I can rest, riiight?
''Mom we are putting our bathing suits on ,we will go swimming.Wanna come with us?''
''Nah.Let me just be lazy please.''I yawned and took my bed into the shadows of the mountain to have good rest.
There was a certain corner that had a magical attraction to me.I know, it seems weird but I felt I could rest my body better if I would sleep here.I could see the two lovebirds playing in the creek and then rushing towards the lake.I smiled.
Luckily this morning we realized that the lake was not very deep.Maybe about 10-12m deep in mid of lake..And you could see all from above as the water was crystal clear.Inside were some fishes,some stones and a bit of plants.So it was safe to play around it.
Place, where they swam, was not even over their heads,so they happily splashed around while swimming, diving and dunking each other. Truly vacation.The sun was not as biting as in the outside world so Chi-Chi didn't worry about getting burned.They will probably stay in water till they are all wrinkly.Oh well, it's their vacation and they are big enough...I yawned and just laid down as my eyes felt suddenly heavy.
I slowly felt my body relaxing and it felt like floating around.The next second I fell asleep deeply.
I even started to snore. The sound rebounded off the walls and scaring some of smaller animals in the vicinity.Well that is what Chi Chi said.
While I slept the kids played around but the cats slowly approached me and started staring contest. It seemed like they were standing guard next to me and in the same time anticipation came into their eyes.

JennyS this is quite short this time so I will probably write one more chapter.Can someone tell me is it better to make it shorter or as long as before? Let me know.If noone answers I will keep them shorter :)
