章節 30: Liam Simons
We walk out the door and my eyes go wide in surprise. I see a tall, red-haired man. He has a beautiful face; doll-like blue eyes, long eyelashes and a slender nose. He stands there elegantly, looking like an angel. It's as though God took his own time making him.
I'm going to be modelling with him? I'd just look silly beside him. My grip on Jason's hand tightens and turns his head to look at me.
Jason: What? Nervous again?
Mia:...
He places his hand on my head and gives me a reassuring smile.
Jason: It'll be fine, trust me.
Trust him? It's been only a handful of days and I've already put aside the wall I should've built between us. But, after Cindy told me about his past, I just can't bring myself to be cold to him. Whatever, for the sake of old times, I should help him.
Mia: Okay.
With that, he lets go of my hand and I walk over to the male model as instructed. My heart is beating like a drum in nervousness but I can't let it show. The model looks at me and squints his eyes as if to judge me. I ball my fists tightly.
He leans in and whispers in many ear.
Male Model: Heh, you don't know who I am, do you?
Mia: I..!
... I was seen through again. I look up to see his face inches apart from mine and automatically pull my head back. What the hell, even his despising smile looks beautiful.
Male Model: Someone like you isn't even fit to be in this industry, how did you get in?
Mia:...
What's he trying to say? I know I'm not model-like but even I have dignity.
Male Model: Whose bed did you climb in? Was it his?
He smirks at me and motions his chin towards Jason who is talking to another staff member. What the... He must've seen us holding hands earlier, though that's not a reason to say something so despicable about me!
Who would've thought that a man with his looks would be such an assh*le?! I can't even yell at him, I'll only make trouble for Jason. I lower my voice.
Mia: How dare you say that?!
Male Model: I am Liam Simons, isn't that enough? I can say or do anything I want.
Liam Simons? Isn't that the international celebrity many women fancy? I've had no interest in all those things so I never knew what he looked like. This jerk standing in front of me is him? What a waste.
Mia: It's not, being famous doesn't make you innocent for everything you do. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't make such comments about me.
Liam:..! You're not worried that you'd offend me?
He looks at me, clearly amused by my dismissive attitude. What? Does he think all women would be interested in him?
Mia: Not at all, I haven't said anything wrong.
Liam: And you're not going to come out and even correct me about my opinion of you?
I give him a sideways glance and sigh.
Mia: There's no need for me to justify myself if I'm talking to a wall of plaster.
You think no one would notice how much makeup you're wearing? I look back ahead at the camera when the photographer instructs me to. Liam moves away from me with an amused chuckle.
Liam: Interesting....
Mia:....
I don't know what he means by that, I'm just going to ignore him. He puts his hand my waist as told and I flitch slightly. I hate him touching me but, there's nothing I can do about it. All I can do is to stay silent and not create trouble for Jason, he trusted me with this.
And so, the awkward photoshoot goes on....
