We assume no two snowflakes are alike as it would be near impossible to prove the opposite. Thus due to our destructive human nature, we compelled to grab huge amounts of these unique objects, squash them together, and then throw them at fellow humans. There's also the classic where you stuff a handful of snow in your victim's jacket from behind.
Snowflakes weigh almost nothing and average at around 0.02 grams. Thus each kilo of snow is comprised of around 500,000 snowflakes. If you took a tenth of that for every snowball, you would be throwing 50,000 unique projectiles at another person.
The best way to form a snowball is with your bare hands. The heat from your hands will also slightly melt the snowball causing it to compress. If you keep on compressing it, you'll eventually have a ball of ice in your hands. But snow isn't exactly as nice and fun as it is normally depicted. Without proper clothing and or gloves, snow just isn't enjoyable. Within minutes your hands will hurt until they turn bright red and go numb.
There is an annual professional snowball fighting competition and to send off their team, Canada hosted a snowball fight in Saskatoon. This fight could be described as a small scale war as 7,681 people participated in it.
