Greenwashing is a very despicable and manipulative type of advertisement.
Somewhere deep down, everyone wants to keep the earth alive and not waste its resources
Using titles like all natural and eco which sometimes are just plain lies, they try to appeal to humans by stroking their egos with subliminal messages like "you did a good job by buying our product that is better and helps the environment". Some manufacturers also use green colors and images of plants that may have no relation to the product at all. All it does is make the product more appealing and the problem is that it actually works. That's just how advertisement works.
To avoid being tricked into buying a more expensive product for no concrete reason, just google "is ____ bad for the environment?" or "is ____ worth it?". One prime example would be Fiji water that pretty much advertises itself as bottled nature.
