章節 6: Chapter 6

Logan got most the way up the mountain, when he saw another rock the same size as the last one. But this rock was different, it was blue and it seemed to shine. Logan was curious about the rock. Maybe it could be a special kind of metal, but he wouldn't find out unless he got some. He grabbed the pickaxe again and started hitting the rock. After he had hit the rock for the hundreth time, the rock still looked perfectly normal, without a single scratch.

"What a hard metal, let's see what kind it is." Logan thought as he bent down and touched the rock. After he did so some words showed up in front of his eyes.

[Powersteel]

Level: 10

Description: Extremely rare, contains defensive properties

"I see, that's why I couldn't hurt it at all." Logan said to himself.

"Hmmm, well I'll just come back later with a better pickaxe and see if I can break it." he thought as he kept moving forward.

Logan walked around the mountain for the rest of the day, and when it started turning dark he went back down. On his way down he stopped by another clump of [Numb Metal] and started pounding on it. After the rock crumbled once again Logan heard a notification...

Obtained Job:

Mining

Level: 1

Mastery: 0/10

Description: Allows player to mine materials

Logan was surprised by the notification. He had read about the jobs in the manual also. Right now the only job he had was [Mining], but it was only level one which meant he could only mine level one material.

"Better than nothing, at least I could make money mining." Logan thought.

He put all the pieces of metal in his inventory and headed back to the village. He walked though the door of the blacksmith shop. He couldn't see Conan so he unloaded all the metal into a bin. As he did so Conan walked through the front door.

"Not bad, that's it for today, so come back tomorrow. If you work for me long enough I might let you be my apprentice." Conan said in a deep voice.

Conan walked into his back room and slammed the door. Logan was depressed, because when he entered this world he thought he was going to become a extremely powerful being in a few months. But so far it he hadn't gotten hardly anywhere. He started thinking of a way to get more attribute points and exp, but the only way he knew was with killing animals.

"Maybe if I used mining it would also give me exp." he thought.

Logan walked to the only restaurants in this village. Its name was Black Blossom Restaurant. It looked inviting, pleasant and enchanting. Logs and intricate stone carvings made up most of the buildings outer structure. He couldn't see through the windows, as they were covered with an animal skin. As he stepped through the doorway, he was welcomed by excitement and a pleasant atmosphere. The cook waved at him as he sat down at one of the tables. There was also a pleasant smell wafting through the room. The inside of the restaurant was just as alluring as the outside. Wooden beams supported the roof, with ambient lights attached to them. The walls were packed with painted portraits. There was also a pricing board on the wall.

Logan was impressed by this small restaurant. Even though the village was not large, this restaurant was quite impressive. Logan ordered some food, after he ate he paid and left the building. He started walking slowly down the street and studying the village. He wandered through the whole village. The village was bigger than he expected, it could probably even be a small town. The main walkways could be considered streets, and some of the buildings were also quite big. But all the buildings were made of logs and stone.

Logan made his way back to the blacksmith shop. It was already completely dark so Logan laid behind the forge and went to sleep.

In a village, in a small building, a 16 year old boy was sleeping on a dirty floor. He was dreaming about, well he didn't know what he was dreaming about exactly, but he was standing on a small platform of rock, and in front of him was an entrance to a cave. His surroundings were dark and he could barely see the cave entrance. He moved forward into the cave when he suddenly was in a massive, dusty room. The floor was covered in broken pottery, roots and animal droppings. He had a torch in his hand, he moved slowly forward only to see prison cells, worn down and drained by time itself.

Further in the room are two paths, he moved down the left path only to come to a dead end. He then walked down the right. As he followed the tunnel, he could see rooms full of treasure, and a few empty, dark, and musty rooms. He advanced carefully forward and soon arrived in another room. The room itself is empty, but in the center is a white pillar. On the pillar were many markings, they looked like an ancient language.

He moved closer studying the markings.

"Ding..." a loud sound awakened him from his dream. Obviously, the boy is Logan. He sat up and saw Conan pounding some metal.

"Get up and throw more wood in the furnace." Conan said in serious tone of voice.

Logan kept thinking about his dream.

"It's most likely just a dream, but I can't help but get the feeling that I've been there before. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it for now." Logan thought.

He sighed and walked over to the furnace, grabbed a armful of wood and threw it in. He got the furnace roaring and walked outside.
