章節 11: Minor Gains

Matthew after finishing the last zombie couldn't resist the fatigue and fell to the ground while fainting.

After an unknown amount of time Matthew awoke, still a little confused by everything that was going on in the world. Matthew thought these last few hours he was dreaming, but when he finally came back to himself and saw his surroundings he realized that it really was not a dream and nor a horrible joke, Matthew went into despair and frightened by everything that was happening began to cry.

But Matthew's moment of sadness was soon cut short as a few notifications began to emerge in his vision.

* Ding * "Congratulations to the user for killing ten zombies."

* Earnings obtained- Common-Degree Cultivation Book (Blood Cultivation) obtained *

* Ding * "Congratulations to the user for leveling up."

After all the notifications disappeared and Matthew managed to calm down, he asked the system:

"System why did I feel my vigor coming out of my body after using [Light Ki]?"

* Ding * "Responding to the user, superior beings identified and corrected a bug, weapon skills didn't consume mana or anything related to it and had no recharge time, which could unbalance the world in favor of humans, this wouldn't be beneficial and wouldn't even help the higher beings at all, they corrected this bug by applying the following penalties: Weapons skills will now consume user stamina and have a recharge time based on the rarity of the weapon. "

Matthew frowned as the system didn't warn him of something so important, looked around and spoke to the system again:

"But that does not explain why I passed out and why I wasn't told something so important?"

* Ding * "The uncommon-grade weapons are made to drain the stamina even of a body of rank F, as his body was below standard and in a situation of hunger you were sucked from much of his stamina and with that ended passing out."

"And I'm not here to be your babysitter, you have to learn by yourself the new functions and when I'm modified."

It was then that Matthew realized that his body was extremely hungry begging for food, if he couldn't eat soon he might faint again or lose all his energy and not be able to fight and in this new world that would surely mean death.

Matthew decided to allocate all of his AP (Atributte Point) in the constitution, thus enhancing his body to a F rank body, so that he could have a smaller charge on his body when he used the [Light Ki] ability again and allocated his SP (Ability Point) in the [Shield of Salvation] and then Matthew had the sudden realization of how much luck he had, if any zombie were left or his ability was a little less powerful, he would die soon after passing out.

Extremely hungry Matthew continued his way downstairs, he would have to get there and enter the staff room to eat and drink something, save food and water for the future, or he would be dead soon enough.

Matthew went through the corpses and was disgusted by the stench that seemed to get worse with each second that passed, not surprisingly he has successfully reached the stairs and down to the ground floor, fortunately he did not see any zombie in sight, which may be understandable due to the screams he heard on the campus earlier, now the screams have diminished considerably but there was still a shout or another from time to time.

When Matthew arrived at the door of the staff room and tried to enter, he realized that the door was locked, fortunately this was the apocalypse and if he broke the door no one would care and even if cared they wouldn't have him punished anyway, he made a vertical cut on the door with his sword and entered through the hole that was opened.

Matthew walked over to the snack machine and broke the glass as he picked up snack foods, chocolate bars, and all sorts of high-energy foods available in the machine filling his backpack and with what is left of the snack machine he ate and walked to the minibar in the room and drank two 500ml bottles of water and put the rest in the backpack.

Matthew then decided to rest for a moment in the room while checking his status.

Description: Cultivation book that teaches the user to cultivate the blood, thus strengthening its constitution and stamina in 0.10 per level.

Matthew's status now had some changes as he was at level 2 with 30 exp, his ability [Shield of Salvation] was at level 6 and his constitution had reached the value of 2.10 and his stamina achieving 1.40 with only one more atributte remaining to reach rank F, but none of this compared to the surprise that was the addition of a new tab in the status, puzzled Matthew asked the system:

"System for which reason my ability [Shield of Salvation] is at level 6? It was at level 2 before and I only allocated an SP on it and how does the exp system work? To level from Level 1 to Level 2 I needed 100 exp points, now at level 2 I need 200 exp points to reach level 3 and more importantly what is this new tab [CULTIVATION]?

* Ding * "Responding to the user, each allocated SP equals 4 levels that the user would gain by training the skill manually."

"The exp system works as follows, all survivors start at level 1, to go up from level 1 to level 2 the user needs to reach 100 exp points and for each level next the amount of exp needed is doubled."

"The [CULTIVATION] tab was added when the user acquired a cultivate book as a zombie loot, that tab shows the level and bonuses that the cultivation technique will give."

Understanding all the changes that had occurred in the system Matthew prepared to leave and continue his journey toward the refectory when he heard noises near the door, entering into a combat posture he prepared for whatever was coming.
