章節 5: The Present

It just rained in City B, the streets were flooded with water and it was still drizzling. Luna drove and stopped infront of her apartment, the building had a total of 12 floors and she lived on the 11th floor, it was one of the oldest buildings in B City and the area was well developed and clean. Majority of people living in the building were working class people, by morning, almost everyone left the building and came back at night or the next morning, Luna never cared about the people in the building, she came back from work when she wanted, left when she wanted, she never had a boyfriend nor even took interest in dating, nothing actually interests her, she just lived through the years and never bordered with anyone, he lived peacefully.

Coming from the mall, she drove to the underground packing lot, locked her car and took the elevator up to her suite. She turned on the light as she entered and a spacious room came in sight, it was simply designed, with blue curtains by the window with very huge windows that give a very beautiful sight of the city at any time, the walls were white with a touch of blue fittings and wooden furniture in the dining area and navy blue fluffy cushions, the place was just cozy and warm. She called for dinner before heading into the shower to take a bath.

The dinner came while she was in the shower, and soon finished with her bath and sat down to eat, and as she ate,she started recollecting all the events of the day, Amanda's assault, the board meeting's complaints and her mother's wedding.

Now that she was attending the wedding for sure, what kind of present should she buy? then she grinned, " Maybe two presents, she is my mother after all, a pre- wedding present and the the wedding present! Sounds fun! she stood up and walked to her room, lifting the mattress, she took out a box made from metal, it looked old and rusty but Luna didn't mind, she took out the keys from the shelf and opened to box and emptied its contents on the ground. She reached out and took the red little box from the things and opened it, a shiny bright Ruby came to light, the ring was magnificent! Luna looked at it and a cold smile formed on her face and soon after tears fell and she started sobbing. After sometime she wiped off her tears and made a phone call, " I have something for delivery, can you come over to Daesan Building? Room number two on the eleventh floor, yes, thank you". And she ended the call, and chuckled, " you will love my present mum!

Meanwhile,

At the other side of town, a woman in her mid forties was sitting in her room watching the news and sipping a cup of coffee then suddenly, the doorbell rang and she stood up to answer, " Good evening, ma'am, delivery for you", came the voice of the delivery guy, " oh thanks, but who is it from?

" It's an unknown, sign here please". She signed and the little box which was decorated using a red ribbon with a note pinned on it saying " Congratulations! She left the door and opened the present, then her eyes landed on a Ruby shiny ring which had the initials, SR embedded on it, She was shocked, And then it downed on her, Luna! it was only her that could do this, shortly she took her coat and shoes and ran out to hail a taxi, " Mister, Daesan Building please, thank you". That ungrateful bitch!

A young man, with long strides just arrived from the airport and was heading to the lobby, his chiseled face had a frown as he walked towards the exit of the building, He sighed heavily, " B City, welcome thy King!
