章節 3: In the University...
Oswald and Nicolas had a long discussion with Professor David. Professor was the most experienced person in the University & had been serving it for the longest period. He knew Oswald and Nicolas very well because they were the most disciplined and enthusiastic students the University ever had. Even they loved Professor very much. During their university days they even used to visit Professor's house every now and then & Professor's wife Madame Mary used to feed them till their throats. She also enjoyed their presence as she was childless. She had even cried a bucket that year, when they had passed out & returned to their homes.
"She really misses you both a lot. But then new neighbors have moved in with three kids & she spends most of her time with them." said Professor David.
"Even we miss her a lot." confessed Nicolas, "I never had the chance to experience how it feels like to have your own mother but I don't regret because Madame Mary was like one & after passing out Mrs. William, Oswald's mom has filled up the gap. Even if I had lost my Mom during my birth I don't bear that pain in me."
Oswald nodded. Then he said, "So Professor can you help us? We need only 3-4 enthusiastic & intelligent students cause we need help in coordinating the survey. It isn't an easy task you know..."
"Well Anna Brown is already selected for another survey & so is Bob Taylor. Who else...who else...Kim Jones is also selected." Professor thought hard, "Well Mike Evans is free until now so you can take him & Chris Roberts as well...&...&...who else?...Yes yes Alan Johnson and Lewis White. Yes you people can take them. They are very adventurous and studious. Sorry I couldn't provide you with an female candidates as all the best ones in the lot has already been selected. I am sure that the boys will agree!" assured Professor David.
"Thanks Professor!!" both the ex-students cried.
Then Professor called for the four students. Came Mike, Chris, Alan & Lewis. Excitement bubbled on their faces though they weren't aware of the reason. The boy's get up and strong built suggested that they were ready to take up any challenge. Their sun-tanned faces with thin beard reflected their daily habits. In short they seemed perfect for the journey.
"The reason for which you have been called is that you four have been selected to accompany these geologists cum explorers on a adventurous survey on which the future of the country depends. It is a trip to the South of USA where rich mines are present. Are you interested??" asked the professor.
"Of course we are always ready!!" answered the boys unable to control their anxiety and emotions.
"Very well. Rest will be informed to you by these gentlemen." replied Professor David with a satisfying smile pointing towards Oswald and Nicolas.
"We will be heading towards the Texas Arizonian region in the search for productive mines which will be producing us with valuable minerals. That will uplift the country's economy. The locals are not aware of these resources yet. But I hope you can understand that this huge survey cannot be accomplished by us alone so we choose you four to accompany & help us. This is both a test of your knowledge as well as an adventure for you. Get ready." ended Nicolas with determination in his voice.
