章節 13: THE CIVIL WAR
"He was passed away in the middle of civil war."
"What has happened in your king succession? "
"We used to be only be known as Thousand Caves Duchy, as a small part of the Jung Geluh's Empire. Arch Duke of Leonhard declare our independence and established the Thousandcaves Kingdom. He was be known as King Leonhard. After he died due to his old age, his oldest son claims the throne as King Neocles. Under his influences, our trading raises into the age of glory.
But those good things were not last long. A foreign trading company which was supported by very strong military forces invaded us. They called them self as NTUC, Nevernia Trade Union Company. They took over all our trading goods and monopolizing everything we had. Slowly but sure, our people become poor and powerless. Many of our people died of starvation, and their bodies were scattered on the streets.
They force our people to grow crops that are profitable only for them, and then took everything away with insufficient payments. Our merchant was no longer able to trading freely just like before. They should obey every demand that came from NTUC officers. Even though those demands were an unreasonable one.
Those who opposed them will be put into slavery, forced labor, salt mines and all the bad things that will become colonization trash.
King Neocles cannot stand to see his people suffer. He led the resistance forces, but NTUC established a rival government by raising his half-brother to become the new king, King Leodes. All other half-brothers from King Neocles were given the strategic position to fully support King Leodes.
NTUC became very big and rich so that they could build their own military power. One month their soldier's salary is equivalent to a year of income for our workers who work for them.
They called their troops Marcog, March of the Gods, which eventually became known as Maddog. The Maddog of NTUC.
This army is our nightmare. They also consist of some of our own people, either from our local people, or Vajya people or even throughout the Niujvantara archipelago. Only a small proportion of those who are native to the NTUC or the original birth of the Nevernia land who became Marcog member. Some criminals from countries all over around Nevernia also became their elite member.
They were very brutal and cruel as if they have no mercy, far crueler than the NTUC people themselves. Many of our people were killed in their hands without any reason.
Then civil war broke out between our own people. Our energy and people have run out in the civil war, that's why we failed to drive NTUC away.
King Neocles was killed along with all his family member. And NTUC recognizes the legitimacy of King Leodes."
"From which troops did you come from?"
"I come from the hunter unit of the Thousandcaves royal forces, a faction which is chosen to loyal to King Leodes. I don't have much choice left, my family was under their surveillance."
"How big is the power of the royal army? How big is the strength of the Maddog forces?"
"The royal forces consisted of four brigades or about twelve thousand personnel, but two brigades claimed to separate themselves from the royal army. They called themselves the Black Centipede Brigade under the leadership of Princess Diaz and the Black Tiger Brigade under the leadership of Duchess Rhea who continued to resist the Royal Army and Maddog Army.
About the strength of the Maddog Army, was around nine companies or about two thousand three hundred personnel, each company was led by a captain, and each company was placed at the outermost point of Thousandcaves. There was a company which home-based right inside the castle fortress, seems they are spying the movements of the royal army. " Guymar explained briefly and almost in detail.
Meyrlion made a special note on his notebook when the name Princes Diaz was mentioned.
"Are there any other troops besides those that you have mentioned?" Meyrlion asked Guymar.
"I forgot to tell you, there were three independent forces outside of pure military forces under the NTUC wing. The Nevernia Police Department was supported by six forces of companies. Then there were two companies of the Cerberus Army, serving as military police. And finally, four companies of Dracula's troops served as an intelligence unit.
I don't have complete data about them, but believe me, they are everywhere. Their members have diverse backgrounds, almost like Maddog Army. It is certain that some people from my country and your country are members of them. Maybe they have even infiltrated your country for a long time ago... " Guymar answered quickly.
"Is the presence of your troops this time also based on information from the Dracula unit?"
"Of course. It's certain."
"Who's of the Dracula unit leader?"
"NPD, Cerberus, and Dracula are all under the direct control of the highest NTUC leadership, Governor General Cowan"
"Please explain about the identity of Duchess Rhea," Myerlion asks in the coolest way possible.
"Duchess Rhea is the grandson of our royal founding father. She is firm and doesn't say much. A very talented person in the military, martial arts, and magic arts, especially eight elements magic. She is around twenty-nine years old. All of her family is gone, died in a previous civil war, including his fiancee. She was beautiful and charming, but a burn on her left face made her appearance looks scary. But she did not care. She vowed not to seek healing for her beauty as long as the invaders had not left our country. "
"Now, please explain about Princess Diaz's identity." Myerlion subtly tries to get into the real target of the conversation.
"Princess Diaz is the only King Neocles descendant left. She was in the same boat as Duchess Rhea. All his family members died in the civil war. Unlike Duchess Rhea, Princess Diaz tends to be more talkative and foul-mouth.

A second later, she's running away, supported by her forces, The Black Centipede Brigade. That was why King Leodes ordered us to hunt her down here. Dead or alive, she must be captured."
