The armours were flying in the sky while pointing their cannons that were collecting magic from the atmosphere but they weren't fast enough, an arrow which looked as if it was like light itself crossed them.
The battleground which looked as if it will have an obvious victor now was scattered with dead bodies, debris and broken weapons everywhere. The sole elf and some other remaining mercenaries and soldiers were in their respective stance. A soldier with a simple looking armour embedded with black gems, a big slab like sword in one hand and a gauntlet that looked like it had been made of diamond on the other hand commanded the magicians of his troop to make a barrier around them and heal the injured while he himself stepped up for the battle.
The sole elf, who was revered as the strongest in the world even among the heroes that ones cultivated the lands of this world and made the rules that regulate it, just stood there unfazed by the shine that had consumed the gauntlet of that soldier and regulated his breathing. The soldier's sword changed its brilliance into a dark colour and then a ray of light came when he swung it downwards with all his strength. The light reached the elf and then dissipated. The soldier smiled and his breathing got heavy.
"You know that this is the highest rate of equipment the combination of a mech master, alchemist and blacksmith can make, right?"
The sole elf didn't react to his talk and stepped closer to him but, to him, it looked like he teleported and then he swung his bow near the neck of the soldier. The soldier reacted swiftly and got a distance between them, the sword became a shield that was as big as his body between him and the sole elf.
"You're not so fast after all your majesty"
While he was saying that two arrows one of which crossed through the shield and crushed his heart with air pressure and the other entered his head. As his body was still supported by the shield, his head dropped on the ground. The sole elf took air into his nostrils and released the air with his mouth while releasing the arrows on the people who were sneaking behind him.
"General!!"
These incidents were too fast for the soldiers and magicians to react. The magicians were still in between chanting and the soldiers that were standing firm in their stances started to show that they were panicked. They have come to this battlefield thinking that their overpowering men, technology, and numbers will let them win but they were wrong.
The people who had the best moving speeds were all dead and only the people who were supposed to tank attacks were just remaining apart from some magicians, reinforcements were also coming but they will take some time as they had to prepare. All this pressure didn't lower their moral but still increased the tension as they needed to be alive until the reinforcements come.
The sole elf was standing there with his body relaxed and the bow in his left hand.
Many types of writings and designs appeared on the skies and filled it with bold white patterns.
"压力" "温度" "能源"
The magicians chanted in unison one after another.
"振动"
"更改"
The air surrounding the place got compressed into a point in space and got heated to a temperature that the ground surrounding it seemed like it was dissipating. The sole elf still wasn't surprised by this act and took a piece of metal out of his back pocket. The ball-like air which was visible to the eye came at full speed towards the elven king.
When the ball gets in contact with the king a huge steam cloud rose. The magicians sighed in relief while the soldiers made their stances firmer. They knew that they were no match for the man who had killed the some of the most brilliant and strongest people they've known in front of there eyes. But still, they had belief in the "magic" that the heroes have given them and this was the highest rate of it.
While they were still preparing themselves for the incoming attack that was inevitably coming, inside the steam cloud a big piece of armour covered the king's arm. The bow changed its shape to merge with that armour. He was still consuming a great amount of his stamina but wanted to end this all as quickly as possible. Three arrows that were visible to eyes but still made of pierced through the soldiers that were standing with shields as heavy as a big statue and exploded killing all the people standing there.
The mages standing behind the soldiers started using the most basic magic and tried to flee but were met with their end sooner than they expected.
The king was now in a state of disorientation but still held his ground firm. He felt a tremor coming from the direction of the forest. A huge number of mechas and golems appeared from the forest.
"Don't let him move!! Surround him and if someone falls, take their place!!"
The mechas surrounded the king while the golems, who were controlled by the mech masters with magic were being protected in the distance by the soldiers, were flying above the king in a circle.
"You leave me no choice"
The king stretched the string of the bow with his fingers, one of the golems joined its hand and fired on the king at the same moment the king stretched the string. A ray of light shot towards the king but the king was unscathed with armour that has reached from his arm to his whole body. A stream of air escaped from the visor of the armour. All the golems followed and shot rays of light on the king when the lights dissipated; the mechas rushed in with their lances and pierced the wind with it. The king while keeping his calm jump towards his back and crossed one of the mechas lines of attack. While in the air he rotated himself and shot an arrow from his bow towards the air.
The golems were not actually made fully humanoid and had small gaps between parts of armour, these parts were floating just in place for letting them work. These parts got dissembled and gave space for the arrow to go through them and then assembled back.
"So much for the arrow shot by the world's strongest"
One of the soldiers inside a mecha said that before being pulverized by an arrow on his head.
"Hunh?!"
The soldiers and mech masters were surprised, but being surprised wasn't going to do them any good. They all died, being unable to know what hit them. While this chaos was happening, the mechas were not trying to survive but to attack the king with little to no defence from those arrows. The mechas with a shield bashed around but the king just rotated with his leg as an axis and dodged all of them while knocking the core of the mechas. The mechas with the lance weren't able to attack him and died without any resistance, the golems, on the other hand, weren't in the position to reassemble and attack again.
The golems were flying around and the mech masters were in disarray. A big hand out of the group reached out to the mech masters and shot a laser that was blue in colour towards the king. The king shot an arrow towards one of the mechas that were charging towards him and took the hit head-on.
"That armour isn't enough for stopping this kind of matter"
The armour that the king was wearing got dented on the right shoulder part but was far from being destroyed. The mech master that appeared was somewhat not surprised at the turn of these events but was amused from it. He jerked the part of his arm that was connected to a very big arm and it started crawling up to his shoulder and making a compartment on his back. The compartment was sucking all the matter present there, ranging from air to the small rocks and trees. The king was vigilant and had been firing off arrows in the direction of that mech master. These arrows had been taken by the mechas and the other heavy armoured soldiers. The king shot another 20 arrows into the skies in succession while dodging all of the soldier's attacks.
The arm machine was vibrating at the highest it can but the arrows from the skies didn't stop raining for it to complete.
"You think that is enough to kill us?"
A shield emerged from the machine on the mech master's right arm and shook off all the arrows that came from the skies unlike the weapons of other soldiers.
The Laser was shot towards the king. It scattered in all directions towards the king. The mech master was forced to back himself due to the force it exerted but still held his ground firm. A pair of small spider-like legs emerged from his shoes and held the ground.
"You feel that your majesty? You're going to die by the hands of the greatest inventor of this world. Just feel the matter going through your body and ripping it apart. I'm sure the human king will be happy with this."
The king's armour warded off all the waves of light that came to him but still was getting damaged due to it. The king paid no attention to it and drew an arrow with his left hand. The arrow absorbed the light around it and went straight towards the mech master.
"It's still not my time to die"
The mech master who was still gathering resources and firing off that beam took a cube out of his suit of armour, he held it with his hand and started pressing the buttons on it continuously with his thumb. He was consumed by a hole in space and then disappeared leaving the machine and his hand behind.
The battlefield was now just filled with panic and debris of golems, mechas, and weapons. The arrows were raining at full speed towards the ground. The king made his breathing calmer and disappeared towards the carriage.
The forest that was calm at noon was now filled with dead bodies obliterated and crushed due to the forces in the war. The sunset made the ground appear redder than it already was. The crimson rays of the sunlight pierced through the holes made into the armours and parts of mechas and golem to make a scenery filled with crimson.
Only the voice of air was heard by everyone when the king returned to his wife and supported her with his shoulder.
"I need any high-quality potions you can find now!"
"Yes, sir!"
The elf soldiers ran off quickly after hearing the commands from the king. The king started illuminating a green light from his hands on the wounds of the queen. The bleeding quickly stopped and she stopped bleeding.
"Elisa, You don't have to care about it anymore. I've come."
"You don't seem like you're alright here. Don't try to act cool in front of me."
Elisa said while smiling.
After a moment of silence, another sound was heard near the king and the queen.
"I was not strong enough, even after all these years."
The voice was very timid and low. It vanished into thin air after it was spoken unheard by anyone.
The king's expression grew grim. After he completed healing the wounds on the queen and made her drink the potion he made by mixing the other potions, he stood up while supporting the queen.
He called two of the female soldiers that weren't affected by their injuries and gave the queen to them. Assessing the situation of the battle, he stopped for a while watching the two small boys but continued his assessment. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
"SOLDIERS!!"
"Yes, sir!!!"
The unorganized soldiers even if they weren't in the state of standing tried to stand up. All the soldier's attentions were on the king.
"Today, we've pushed through a war that shouldn't have happened! These scornful creatures have attacked us for just their own benefit without taking into account that we too are living creatures. We've bested them in ability but the world is large and humans are not creatures that should be underestimated. Do you know what we do now?!"
"WE PREPARE FOR BATTLE! SIR!"
All the soldiers shouted in unison. The king observed all the soldiers again and took the queen from the female soldiers, he carried her in a princess carry and glared at the two brothers one of whom has been unconscious for a while.
"Doing preparation for battle is an obvious task with the turn of events but we still lack the skills to counter them! We must train our very bones in order to overcome this situation! That is all for now! You may collect all the necessary materials and follow us to our kingdom!"
All the soldiers began scavenging for materials, the soldiers who can still walk carried all the crippled soldiers to a carriage which was still able to work. The horses were taken from the enemy forces and the king was offered a seat in one of them.
"Do you really think I'm one of the luggage that will slow us down?"
The king replied with a straight face. The soldiers continued taking all the injured people to the carriage while the king walked at a pace that all the soldiers were able to reach when their work ended. One of the two brothers walked beside the king while healing the queen with a green luminance. The other brother was being healed by the other soldiers that were on the carriage.
The sun was being engulfed by the horizon as they kept walking. The battlefield that was once filled with the cries of war now only had some corpses left. The ground was red which contrasted with the colour of the sun at that time.
A man was standing right there at the battlefield, watching the sun's radiance fade into the night sky. The clothes he wore made him look like just a regular citizen but the glare in his eyes was as sharp as that of a soldier that wanted to every war they fight in. He noticed a paper which was stuck between the barks of a tree. The man looked like he disappeared for and then a silhouette similar to the man appeared beside the tree with the paper in his hand. The tree which had the paper stuck in it became started rotting and dying.
"Interesting."
The man had a smile on his face while he read the paper. But this smile didn't remain on his face for long as a cut appeared on his cheek and a human-like figure with a bow in its hand died.
"This will be truly fun! The heroes may never come back but the world will always remain rotten!"
The man disappeared leaving the paper behind which now had his blood on it. The paper just had four words on it.
"You are already dead"
