章節 1: Accident
Anna sighed sadly seeing no new emails in her inbox and reloaded again thinking there must be some network issues but the result was same.
She has applied for more than fifteen job interviews and left her CV in more than ten job websites but she hasn't got selected or got shortlisted in any. For God's sake she didn't study engineering her ass off only to sit at home and watch cartoons.
Getting up from bed she grumpily got dressed and left to her part time job. She started working in Starbucks to support her family, even though her dad and elder sister worked, their family was still financially unstable. Many of her relatives and friends mocked her being waitress even after studying so hard but she never bothered about those petty people. what's more important for her is only her family and she would do anything for them.
Anna's mom was in small garden in front of their house watering the plants. Anna back hugged her mom and gave a peck on her cheek.
"Bye Mom I'll be going." Her mom returned the kiss and waved at her daughter.
As Anna walked two steps and was about to third step a green eyed black cat ran in front of her startling her as she was about to step on the cat. Regaining her posture she continued to walk.
"Anna, stop it's a bad omen wait for some time." Her mom stopped her in concern holding the elbow.
"Mom you know I don't believe in such things I'm already running late I don't have time, bye."
Anna refused to listen to her mom and left.
Anna usually avoided peak hours where everyone was in hurry to go work and school and college. So by the time she came to main road traffic was less.
Anna stood in the pavement junction waiting for green signal. As the green light flashed she moved forward to cross the road, her phone buzzed with a ping sound indicating she has a new email getting excited and anxious she opened the mail only to get to disappoint to see a spam mail.
'pom pom'
A car screeched across the road trying to control it but the brakes were failed and the man was screaming at the front to move away.
Seeing the car moving at high speed towards her Anna's body froze her usual calculative mind became numb. In next second her body flew few meters away and landed across the light post with her head hitting the light pole. Her body laid in pool of blood, her body ached in agony she wanted to scream due to pain but her voice didn't come out a lone tear escaped her eyes. Many unknowns voices echoed in her ear slowly fading away. She knew what was happening she wanted to stay awake she doesn't want to die but her fate is stronger than her will power. Soon darkness consumed her whole.
