章節 12: Chapter 11: Angel vs Alien
{Just outside the frozen ocean near Menagerie}
[6:24 p.m.]
Raven: (I'm not sure what that blue monster girl is but I don't like the aura around her. The air feels thin and the atmosphere feels heavy, I'm really scared.)
Sakura: "What the hell is that thing?"
Tenma: "Something that should not be alive."
The scythe on Sakura's back continued to illuminate reacting to the appearance of the alien. While staring at her enemy Tenma gave Erza to Sienna.
Tenma: "Sakura, Sienna, get these two back to shore, Raven I need you to go with them."
Raven looked at Tenma noticing the serious expression on her face. Without question she simply obeyed her mother and slid back to shore with Sienna and Sakura.
A bright halo appeared on Tenma's head, the light from the halo expands, wrapping around Tenma like a cocoon. It then dispersed revealing Tenma in her angel form holding the Divine Chains.
Tenma: "You should be dead."
The expressionless alien looked at Tenma, inspecting her appearance. After moments of inspection she unleashed a high frequency noise allowing her voice to be heard through telepathy,
¿?: "The destruction of a universe isn't enough to kill me. Now tell me where my daughter is so that I may have my reunion with her."
Tenma knew exactly who the alien was talking about, she grew angrier by the second just by looking at her enemy.
Tenma: "You don't have the right to call her your daughter..."
In the blink of an eye Tenma's divine chains disappear and reappear wrapped around the alien restraining even it's tentacles.
Tenma "You are nothing but a murderer!"
Tenma dashed toward the alien mad with rage, quickly thrusting her fist forward. The impact of her attack should have impaled her target but the attack was blocked by a wall of energy.
Tenma: "I'm going to kill you!"
¿?: "You will die trying."
Tenma was pushed away by the wall of energy. A spark glimmers on the alien's eyes loosening the chains wrapped around her. Tenma recalls her weapon, rematerializing it back on her hands.
¿?: "Where is my daughter, I'm not going to ask again."
Tenma: "Shut up..."
She raised her arm upward, the atmosphere around the two got very humid quickly. The blades of her weapon began a dark red glow, a giant meteor can be seen falling from the sky.
The trio back at shore look back to where they left Tenma, noticing the giant meteor descending at a decent pace.
Sienna: "What the hell is that!?"
Erza opened her eyes to see Sienna with a worried look on her face. She turns her attention to what Sienna has her eyes on.
Erza: "What is going on?"
Sienna kneeled down to let Erza stand on her feet. Shortly after that Raven jumps onto her and burrowed her face in Erza's chest. Erza held her in her arms, "hey there little one, how do you feel?"
Raven: "I feel scared."
Erza: "Scared huh... Well do not worry, I will keep you safe."
Sakura: "Sienna, I need you and your organization to evacuate everyone in town. Get them as far away from here as possible."
Sienna: "I'm on it."
Just as she was about to leave, a muscular bearded man with yellow eyes approached her.
??: What is going on here?!"
Sienna: "Don't worry about that. Ghira we need to evacuate everyone and fast, let's go."
Ghira: "Understood."
The pair left in a hurry to begin the evacuation while Sakura gave Yuzu to Erza.
Erza: "What are you going to do?"
Sakura: "I'm going to help Tenma."
Little Raven calls out to her in an attempt to get her attention, "master wait."
Sakura: "Sorry kiddo, no time."
Gripping her glowing weapon Sakura jumped on the frozen ocean and began ice skating her way toward Tenma.
Letting out a pouty yet worried expression on her face she walks closer to Erza.
Erza: "Do not worry, Sakura will provide great back up for your mother."
Raven nods to respond, the pair then went over to help Sienna with the evacuation.
The meteor begins to speed up as the fight rages on. With each attack causing cracks to form on not just the frozen ocean but on land itself. From afar it looks like Tenma is fighting on equal footing with the alien but up close that was not the case.
With each blow she landed it would simply block each attack with it's tentacles. Not being able to break through her guard is frustrating her.
She halts her series of attacks and took a deep breath. Her eyes began a dark red glow just like her weapon, she creates a dozen clones of herself and they charge toward the alien.
The alien scoffs in displeasure and readied itself, "disappointing."
Eight of the clones were getting slaughtered one after another, not being able to land a single blow on their enemy.
Three of them charge up energy in unison while the last clone was keeping the alien busy, swiftly dodging all tentacles coming at her.
Doing her best to not get impaled she attempts to get closer while dodging the tentacles. She manages to close the distance, so much that she hit a wall of energy.
Staggered by the wall of energy she reached the alien took this opportunity to go in for the kill by quickly thrusting her arm forward. Impaling the clone and dispersing it into dust particles.
After the ninth clone disappeared, the last three finished up on charging their energy. Immediately they unleash a devastating energy blast that distorted the space around it as it raced toward the alien.
It simply hovered in place uninterested in evading the attack. The energy blast hit the alien head on, letting out massive shockwaves on impact.
Seeing what happened from a distance Sakura grasped her scythe and struck the ice to stop herself, she then erects a three layer shield barrier.
Sakura: "Here it comes."
The shockwaves from the blast reached her and cracked all three layers of the barrier, nearly breaking through it.
Sakura: "That was close, I need to hurry."
Sakura dispelled the barrier and continued skating and hopping on the platforms of ice to get to Tenma.
The area the blue tentacle alien was hovering on is covered in smoke. The three remaining clones were left panting after using all of their energy on the last attack. The trio cautiously move in closer to check for a dead alien.
When they got close enough, tentacles rush out from above the smoke and pierce through each of their chest, killing them instantly.
Seeing the last three of her clones disappear, she sped the meteor up and dashed toward the alien with great speed. Tenma broke through the alien's energy wall, the two exchange blows and clash.
¿?: "Not even a handful of individuals can break through the wall my energy creates, interesting."
Tenma: "Not so disappointing now am I."
It stood silent toward her remark and broke away from the clash by pushing her with it's tentacle. Tenma quickly grasped it's tentacle and began to spin her divine chains with her free hand, lassoing the chains around the tentacle.
Noticing how close the giant meteor is Tenma used all of her physical strength to throw the alien up into it. She shoots a powerful energy beam toward the alien to make sure it hits the meteor.
Right before the beam could hit the alien vanished out of sight. Immediately Tenma looked to where the chains went but they were no longer wrapped around it's tentacle.
The chains rematerialize on her hands, "where the hell did she g-"
Before she could finish her sentence she got impaled by two of it's tentacles, then it firmly grasped her face and flew toward the descending meteor with great speed.
A somewhat far distance away Sakura can see the two flying in the direction of the meteor.
Sakura: "No no no c'mon, why is the fight way up there."
Sakura desperately looked around to find a way up to Tenma. She spotted broken ice platforms that happened to have pointy ends. Without wasting time she quickly levitates it and used her scythe to slice the other ends, making it look like a star. She then launched the ice star toward the alien and Tenma.
Still flying toward the meteor without any intention of stopping the alien threw Tenma directly toward it when they got close enough. Unable to recover because of her wounds, Tenma could nothing to escape her inevitable crash into the meteor.
The ice star Sakura threw did not get there in time, she was too late."
Sakura: "NO!"
Sakura collapsed on her knees in failure as Tenma crashed into the descending meteor.. at least that is how it looked.
Noticing that something seemed off, she got back up to have another look. She sees a still alien and a still meteor, even the little splash of waves on the ocean looked still. Everything is completely frozen in place.
Sakura: "What's going on?"
Feeling a strong presence behind her she quickly turned around to see who it was. To her surprise she sees nobody but the glowing scythe Emilia gave her, hovering above the ice in front of her.
?: "Bearer of the dragon mark, you may rest now."
Sakura: "Who are you?"
?: "I am Ezekiel, daughter of the goddess Emilia."
Quickly losing consciousness and control of her body Sakura feels the warmth of Ezekiel's energy, smiling in relief.
Sakura: "Please.. protect my friends."
Ezekiel: "I will, rest now human."
Sakura's body moved on it's own at the will of angel Ezekiel, grabbing the pole of the scythe her spirit resides in.
Time unfroze and Ezekiel instantly appears above Tenma, halting the giant meteor in place with just her hand. She decomposed the entire meteor then caught Tenma before she ascended above the clouds.
¿?: "Yet another one appears."
Ezekiel: "Are you okay?"
Tenma: "Yeah thank you sak- whoa you are not Sakura."
Tenma felt a powerful angelic presence controlling Sakura's body, one that is familiar to her.
Tenma: "Ezekiel?.."
Keeping her attention at the alien Ezekiel answered Tenma, "yes, that is my name. Do not worry, I will protect you and your friends."
Smiling at her sister's response Tenma's anger was sated, she began to feel calm again.
Tenma: "No sister, we will protect them together."
Ezekiel: "Then prepare yourself, we are taking this battle elsewhere."
A radiant light began to shine as bright as the sun, expanding and covering the three, taking them to a completely different area.
¿?: "Interesting, seems like you will be a difficult one to deal with."
Ezekiel: "Your reign of terror ends here."
¿?: "We will see about that."
