"Start up warp drive!,"
"Full power to engines!"
The crew steeled themselves for their last stand. Suicidal crews were nothing new, but is brought to a whole new level with a celestial metal affinity mage. New bulkheads were made, while projectiles that shot at the corvette were deflected by a magnetic field. As the computer started to do calculations, Lynda brought out the container that held the Crystal of Time.
"You can channel your Elms into this if you want an out,".
As she gave the item to David, the shooting started. The cloaking field turned off with their warp drive turning online. All of the ship's power funneled into this machine that was creaking louder and louder.
David turned on his tactical cogitators as he thought about what could improve their situation.
Eventually David came to a conclusion. They wouldn't make it. The Templar would tear them apart before they could even launch. He had nothing to lose. With one hell mary of a play, he powered the crystal prematurely. The crystal started to crazily suck in David's energy like a fractured dam holding back an ocean. His skin turned coarse and shriveled, and his senses dulled. The space around him fractured as the entire area turned black. A black hole had formed. Not even light could escape. The planet that was nearby started to get sucked in. This event was later known by the community as Black Space. The system now nearly unusable. A top tier mercenary group disappearing over night, and to top it all off a Templar Armada came flying over scaring all the nearby players and NPCs to make a run for it. None made it out with interdictors locking every sector that led put of the areas. Many who died took an easier job in their next life in Galaxy Online.
