Kaylee sat on the chair and waited for her grandmother to come. The graduation ceremony is about to start but still no words from her grandmother.
"Kaylee, let's go inside." One of her blockmates said.
Kaylee looked at her and smiled. "Go ahead, I'm waiting for my grandmother." Her blockmate smiled back and headed inside the hall.
Kaylee is wearing her graduation gown and a white dress underneath. She's also wearing light make-up and, black high-heels.
She furrowed her brow and looked at her wristwatch. She sighed and took her phone in her sling bag. She was about to call her grandmother when her phone suddenly rang. It was Aria.
"Hello?"
A deep breath can be heard on the other line "Go home, grandmother died." Not giving Kaylee a chance to reply, the line got disconnected. Her whole system dropped. Those simple words made her senses gone. She knew someone went to her and said something, but she didn't understand. Her surroundings went dark as if she was about to collapse. 'Grandmother died? How come? She was fine yesterday.'
After a few minutes she came back to her senses, Kaylee stood up and left the graduation hall. It's her graduation day, yet her grandmother died. This is so unfair. She wanted to show her diploma to her grandmother once she received it, but now, there is no way she can see it.
When Kaylee returned home, there was no one in their house. "Grandma..." Tears fall from her face as she calls her grandmother, her aunt, and Aria. There's no one in the house. She took her phone and tried to contact Aria and her aunt, but they didn't answer her call. Her once neat dress was now a mess and so was her makeup. "G-grandma, I'm sorry."
Kaylee slowly opened her eyes as her tears fell down her face. She smiled bitterly as she wiped away her tears. Until now, she didn't know where her grandmother was. Her aunt didn't even let her see her one last time. After her grandmother died, all she did was do the household chores, and she was not allowed to leave the house. On the day her grandmother died, her life completely changed. She was supposed to be working on her dream company, the Jarvis Empire. But it was all a dream now.
She massaged her temple "I didn't realize I was asleep. Aunt and Aria were on vacation, so I need to take this opportunity." She murmured.
She went down to the living room and opened Aria's personal computer. She knew Aria didn't set the password on her computer because she tends to forget her password. It's her only opportunity to find a job. She really wanted to leave the house, but she doesn't have a place to go, plus she's broke right now. She held her breath as she browsed to a job-hunting site.
She sighed as she read the qualifications for the jobs. None of them fits her. She was about to close the tab when a new job was posted. She looked at the clock and was shocked, at this hour? It's already 11:30 p.m.
She happily read the content and her reaction slowly changed as she read one after another. 'SERIOUSLY?'

'Are they really looking for an Assistant?'
Even though she's not sure, Kaylee sent her résumé. The work schedule is a bit too much, and the requirements are sort of weird, but at least she didn't have to stay in this house. She can also have her monthly salary and start her new life, far away from this house.
Kaylee went back to her bedroom and lay down on the bed, she was about to close her eyes when her phone suddenly rang.
"Unknown Number's Calling"
Huh? Kaylee didn't think much and answered the phone. "Hello?" There was silence in the other line. Kaylee frowned. "Hello?"
A man's light cough was heard from the other line. "This is Miss Kaylee McCain, right?" The man on the other line asked.
Kaylee subconsciously looked at her phone and put it back to her ear. "Yes, and you are?"
The man didn't respond right away and waited a couple of seconds before answering her question. "This is Liam. I believe you submitted your résumé to apply for Personal Assistant."
When Kaylee heard that, she was stunned. 'That fast?'
"Ah-yes!"
"This is to inform you that you have an interview, tomorrow at JCrystal Hotel. Just look for Liam Griffin, and they will lead you the way." There was a moment of silence before the man on the other line then said. "Miss McCain?"
Kaylee came back to her senses and calmly said. "Yes, thank you."

"Yes, thank you." Liam looked at Christopher stunned. 'Someone actually applied for a job, with those kinds of requirements?'
Christopher opened his eyes, raised his head, and then stood up. "Let's go."
Liam tossed Christopher's phone back to him. "You have-"
"Clear my schedule for tomorrow." Liam didn't know whether to cry or to laugh.
-
Inside his unit at JCrystal Hotel, Christopher entered his room, lay down on his bed, and closed his eyes. He was about to sleep when his phone rang.
"Hello?" Upon hearing the sweet voice coming from the other line, his eyes widened as he sat down from his bed.
"Hello!" There was a long silence on the other line. He didn't speak again as he waited for the girl to speak. "This is Mr. Liam right?"
Christopher frowned. "No, not at all."
After she had heard that, Kaylee didn't speak again. She didn't know what to say, her hopes were gone.
Christopher sighed and he said. "What is it? You can tell me, I'm his boss."
The moment Christopher said that Kaylee's jaw dropped. She took a deep breath and said. "Did I disturb you? I'm sorry, I'll call back later-"
"What is it?" He asked one more time.
Kaylee gulped. "He said I have an interview tomorrow, but he didn't say what time."
Christopher bit his lower lip as his breath deepened. He gulped as his grip on his phone tightened. "You can come anytime." He said and ended the call.
Kaylee blinked twice and looked at her phone. 'What just happened?'
