Chapter Thirteen:
Feng Qi could feel the danger looming behind him making the hairs on the back of his neck tingle. His eyes grew wide in terror and and for the first time ever Feng Qi couldn't help releasing a scream. The aura behind him was far too terrifying! Hearing the piggish squeal, the girl froze mid knock out.
Glancing down she couldn't stop herself from blushing and putting down the pot, after seeing the the cowering twelve year old below her.
Was she really just about the bash his head in!? Even though it wouldn't cause much harm since he is a cultivator, it would still be extremely painful. Meng covered her face and shook her head to rid herself of the dark thoughts.
She really didn't mean to lose control, but in her entire seventeen years, this is the first time she has dealt with a child. she automatically thought of Feng Qi as mature from how he was acting, however in the end he was still a twelve year old child.
Meng fixed her originally annoyed expression and sat down in front of Feng Qi.
"Prince Feng please forgive me for my previous actions, but I was only trying to knock you out for the greater good. Your wound was recently dressed and if you keep moving than you will definitely reopen it. Please get back in the bed."
With a trustworthy smile, Meng tried her best diplomacy skills. However, as this was one of the only times she has ever had to force a smile in her life, it ended up looking extremely twisted and terrifying.
Feng Qi stared at her 'honest and pure' expression before coughing up blood and passing out.
Meng nonchalantly wiped the blood of her face using her sleeve before picking Feng Qi up and moving him back to the bed. Since it was impossible for him to have fainted because of her, she assumed that he coughed up blood because of the pain coming from his wound.
Taking off the now dirty gauze, Meng checked to see if his stitches were still holding his wound together. she calmed down when she saw that they were still fine and then rewrapped his wound. Afterwards, Meng was finally able to start fixing up the other wounds on his body.
They weren't nearly as bad and didn't really require Meng wrapping them up. However... she really didn't want to see his wounds anymore... by the end of her treatment Prince Feng was completely mummified.
Meng couldn't help herself from collapsing in a chair after she finished mummifying Feng Qi. Her body groaned in appreciation when it was finally allowed to relax.
She decided to stay awake and watch over Feng until a physician showed up, but without realizing it she also somehow feel asleep.
..... In another part of the palace .....
"Princess Meng and Prince Feng are both confirmed missing your majesty." The lead guard bowed down to the emperor.
His voice vibrated across the large room filled with important people, who were all stressed out about the situation. Countless thoughts circled the air of the political change that could happen if Prince Feng was found dead. Regardless, of anyone's thoughts there was one thing that was clear, Feng Qi's death will end the current peace in the kingdom.
The entire throne room was covered with tension as the search for the two royals continued. Everyone here had been constantly on edge for an entire 18 hours while the princess and prince were gone.
In a throne dressed in long dragon sat a middle aged man who seemed to age ten years just recently. The emperor was in a horrible mood as the representative for the annexed Falling Leaf kingdom cried on his left side and as his empress cried on his right side. Along with all of their followers the sound was extremely annoying.
However, he couldn't blame any of them because the situation was definitely dire enough to even make him want to cry.
From how the investigation was going signs were pointing toward Ru Gu Meng going insane. The physicians found out that she killed her most trusted maid as soon as she got up, out of anger!
Therefore, she was hopping mad when she dragged Prince Feng out of the dungeons. At this point everyone felt that the princess already killed Prince Feng.
The emperor really didn't want to Execute Meng, but if she murdered Feng Qi, he wouldn't have a choice in the matter. As an emperor, if he had to choose between her and his kingdom he would of course choose his kingdom first.
