The clean up only took about just over an hour. The Asgardian soldiers worked like wildfire, they divided and conquered the clean up as if it were a life or death situation.
The memories of this event was removed from everyone's mind. Well everyone's but Ashleigh's and mine.
As the guards cleaning drew to an end, Loki pulled me aside. Grabbing my hands he let out a sigh.
"My brother has just let me know that my banishment is up.''
I stared up into his crystal blue eyes, "And that means?"
"It means that I'll be returning to Asgard as soon as this is finished.''
The sudden reality hit me like a truck. Loki would be leaving, very soon. I felt tears well up in my eyes, before eventually slipping out and sliding down my cheeks.
Loki moved his hands up my arms and onto my cheeks, using his thumbs to wipe away my tears.
"I promise that I'll visit, as many times as I can. This won't be the end of us.''
"But we've only just started.''
He pulled me into his chest, cradling my head with his hand.
"I know, I know, I know. It will be hard, but I know that we can make it work.''
"How?''
"I don't know right now, but we will figure something out.''
I pulled away from him, staring into his eyes.
"I love you Loki.''
He paused, letting a smile creep across his face.
"And I love you Ingrid.''
Then his mouth was pressed against mine. We stayed like that for a long time, before the shouts of men caused us to pull away.
Loki looked at me, sadness etched into his eyes, "It's time.''
Grabbing my hand we walked out back into the open. The Asgardian army has already departed and Thor was the only one left.
"Brother, it's time to go home.''
Loki turned to me, kissed me, then let my hands go.
As he walked away, tears fell from my eyes. Ashleigh came and stood beside me, wrapping her arm around me.
The brothers turned to face us.
Thor waved at us, before swinging his hammer"Farewell.''
Then a blinding light, carried by a strong breeze carried them away.
"So," Ashleigh turned to me, "Do you recommend falling in love with a norse god?"
"Ashleigh I believe, Laufey referred to him as evil.''
"Oh sorry, Miss 'No-it-all.' Do you recommend falling in love with an evil norse god?"
Well, can't say that I do, but I don't regret it.
