"Mr Luvo, long time no see my man!" DJ said removing his sunglasses. He folded them and tagged them away on his T-Shirt before giving his friend a hug.
Lerato who was focusing on a file in his hands raised his head slowly, with a slight frown on his face. He was startled by someone who gave no attention to what he was doing. He smiled when he realised who this nuisance was.
"So you are here buddy! my luck this month is better than jackpot." He said sarcastically closing his file to focuse his attention on his old friend.
"What do you mean by that?" DJ acted hurt.
"I mean with the work here Dr DJ. Your unannounced arrival will bear me sweet fruits."
"Can you for once stop calling me that? I must be crazy to have missed someone who teases me this much." he pouted jokingly.
"Hahahahahah!! come on dude. are you five again? if you keep this up I'll call you cute."
"Eish, you always get the best of me in every conversation. why is it that I can't beat you at your own game?
"I'm a renowed wordsmith my man. for now you'll have to bear with me." Lerato patted his friend's back as if he was consoling him for real.
"what?" a deep hoarse voice interrupted them. " Here I was trusting the two of you to do some work, but here you are idling."
"Mr Mosiuoa, why dont we let our boy rest for today?"
"You two!why is it that you never run out of stories? Later boys. Molemo, I hope you are ready, there is a dark cloud rising from the north." With that the old man walked back uphill.
There was a great argument within himself. Should he tell Molemo that there are people claiming him? But what if he looses his only son?
Of course nobody saw this as his face looked normal. After he left, the two men looked at each other. They wondered if wisdom truly came with age because the old man's words were often in parables.
The two quickly shook off what Mr Mosiuoa said. There were no clouds! They comtinued their conversation about home, School, women and more. Molemo suggested they go check on the pigs as they talked, and Lerato agreed.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Molemo and Lerato were immerse deep into their conversation. They failed to notice the silhoutte figure that was walking towards them.
The woman tiptoed so that her heels could not sell her off, however her phone rang when she was only a few steps away from her. The duo turned around and immediately the atmosphere got tense. This was the only woman they argued on.
She was beautiful and carried herself like royalty. Her light brown complexion was smooth and soft. She had straight brows that looked like they were made only for her. she was neither thin nor fat. Her lips formed a straight line when she was met. She was indeed a scene to behold on her own, well at least to Lerato.
Molemo dashed behind Lerato in an effort to hide. This girl was his worst nightmare. sometimes he hated coming home because of her.
After her call, she got closer to them. Smiling as if the entire universe belonged to her; she greeted this pair.
"Gentlemen," her eyes were on Molemo.
"Your Majestyyyyy," Lerato was all smiles like a fool before a king.
Molemo on the other hand nodded, while looking for an excuse.
It was no hidden fact that this girl, Pulane, was head over heels with Molemo. Unfortunately, the feeling wasn't mutual. Thus creating a huge conflict between the two.Molemo always felt pitiful towards his friend. He was madly and uninvoluntarily in love with her cousin but this stupid girl had her eyes and efforts set only for Molemo.
Molemo cursed the day it was revealed to this girl that they were not blood related. Back in high school, Molemo would go out of his way to do what she asked, because to him she was simply a younger sister. He never knew when her demanding turned into obsession!
Lerato switched looks between the two. He thought Molemo was blind for not recognising thos goddess before them. Molemo on the other hand was looking for an excuse to leave and the girl was saying something he couldn't catch.
Pigs!! yes, pigs. Molemo finally remembered that his cousin hated manure, he could only bear ruining his clothes than waisting his time on her. He immediately jumped into the pigsty and started cleaning with a shovel that was nearby.
"Abuti Molemo, I quickly came over when I heard you were at home. Sister Lily said you were here. I missed you,did you come bacause you missed me too?" she asked him expecting a reply.
Lerato felt he was a third wheel, but how could he leave? what if Molemo decided to take chances with this woman here? A whirlwind of emotions and scenarios kept playing in his mind.
Molemo said nothing. But then his thoughts quickly wondered off to her!! The queen of the dance. How could anyone try to compare to her? He remembered he knew who Leseli was, but she seemed not interested in discovering who he was!
He wished she was the one who came over...
Molemo's thoughts:
If it was you bae, I'd never let you go. although we are districts apart I must find a reason to see you even from a distance.
I can't forget your sweet scent and the aroma of your lips. I want to hold you in my arms everyday, kiss you and perhaps.... perhaps have you to myself.
I'm sure I'd be your first!!
...........
Molemo's face shone bright, he smiled unconciously. Pulane and Lerato were surprised. Lerato had no idea his friend didn't hear that Pulane was talking about marriage. He felt a bolt of pain in his heart. His knees felt weak and his heartbeat raced.
He forced himself to ask calmly: " Molemo do you agree with Pulane?"
"What? oh God no! I'm only thinking about queen of the dance floor."
"Who?" Lerato's face changed. Can't blame him, how could he keep it cool when his friend was talking about a woman?
"Dude you should seen her in my arms. She was heaven sent. I didnt want to part with her." Molemo's voice was dreamy.
"So you have a girlfriend?" Pulane asked bitterly.
"Not just a GF, but a soulmate. sorry cuz."
What! He has a woman? seems like Pulane had to nag her mother and uncle harder. she couldn't let anyone have him!
