章節 3: Staff Sergeant (1)

It's July 1st of 2250. Time is 06:30. My new batch of recruits are arriving today. Most of my last group were killed on the field by Adsum fighters. A pathetic cause but capable of avid pawns. It's too bad they chose the wrong side.
I've been in this war since I was born. My father was a First Sergeant and his wife lived with him on base and that's when she had me. It's my duty to stay on this side with no questions asked. A good solider is a loyal and obedient one. All I will ever be is a soldier. It is my path in life, my destiny, what I was trained for, spawned for.
It's been 25 years since my father died. When I look in the mirror I see him and I know he would be proud of my loyalty. I'll make sure these new recruits are just as perfect.
The new group of 10 walk through the door into the bunkers. Most of them are tall and fit with two outlier short scrawns that will be needing to be put in shape. Nothing difficult or new. I explain their situation and my expectations loud and stern analyzing their reactions. I see a twitches under the eye, sucked in guts and fingers begging to fidget. I slam my stick against a medal support beam on one of the bunks causing a loud ring and terrified silence. Training begins.
