"Is this it? Gwindor Educational Institution?" Neo stared at the enormous, glorious gate in front of him as he exited from the black car.
He was unimpressed since he already saw even bigger and more beautifully constructed building in his past life. But he still kept a surprised expression on his face as he looked at the school.
Even though he didn't really liked to do it, he knew that when interacting with other people, he must appear to be normal, and not a cold and unapproachable person. For the sake of attracting less attention to himself, he decided to act like a normal person.
"Yes, sir..." An old, white-haired, bearded man wearing a formal black suit also got off from the driver seat of the car.
Neo thoughtfully glanced at the old man for a moment before turning away.
He was in front of the gates for the Gwindor Educational Institution, or just Gwindor Highschool.
The moment he got of the car he was surprised to see that there was no one entering the school.
"Where are all the students?" Neo looked at one side and then at the other. It was completely empty, there was no one in the main gate.
"The lessons had already started, sir." The man calmly and respectfully spoke.
"Really?"
"Yes, I thought milady had said to you that lessons would begin at 7:30 AM."
"She didn't said anything, in fact." Neo tried to remember the happenings of the other day.
From what he remembers, he left her before she was able to finish speaking.
"Well, sir..." The old man bowed to him and said respectfully. "My job is done. Have a nice day."
"Wait." Neo turned around and called the old man before he could enter in the car.
"There is something else, sir?"
"I don't know where I have to go..." Neo gazed at the giant building that was the school.
There was at least more than three buildings with 6 to 7 floors.
The whole school ground was enormous. There was the normal class buildings, gymnastics building, the various sport camps, event building, etc.
Even from seeing through the main gate, Neo was unable to see the end of the school ground on the other side.
"Oh..." The old man pointed at the building that was on the middle. "There is where you find the receptionist, she will be able to give you directions and help you if you need."
The old man gave a slight bow and entered in the car.
Neo watched as the car disappeared in the distance before going toward the reception room.
He was just about to enter in the school when he felt something approaching from behind.
He dodged by side stepping.
A blur passed through him while speaking, "I'm sorry, but I'm late!" She spoke while running at full speed toward the main building.
"A student?" Neo was able to see from that brief moment as she passed through him, that she was wearing the same dark green uniform that he was using.
The uniform for the men was something that very much looked like a formal white suit, with its tuxedo, necktie, and pants.
As for the woman uniform it was almost the same as the male one, but they used skirts and not pants. There was long and short skirts, and there was regulation against woman students using the male uniform, but they often prefer using what was tailored for them.
The woman that just went pass Neo, for example, was wearing the male uniform. Neo was of course able to see through her gender despite her short hair and small chest, because he was able to analyze her bone and muscular structure from that small encounter.
The uniform itself was with a dark green color for the suit, with a white shirt beneath it.
As for the emblem of the school, it was printed on the right side of the tuxedo. The emblem had an black owl of the middle with an open book just beneath it.
Some might just think that they used the owl just because it normally represent wisdom. But Neo knew it better. It was the animal symbol of the Scientia Household of Ancardia.
[So it seems that the principal is from the Scientia Household...] Neo stared at the emblem of the school that was in the main gate. [The household that worship the Goddess of Knowledge and strategy, Athena.]
Neo took one last glance there and then started to walk forward.
The moment he entered in the reception the first thing that entered in his sight was the receptionist that was behind a table, typing in the computer.
[What personality should I go with?] Neo was having some internal struggle. He couldn't possibly go with his own personality or he might make everyone scared of him and treat him like an outsider.
Even though he hasn't terrible with social skills, he wasn't that great either. Most of his experience comes from living the lives of others.
He indeed was good in social interactions, but he only used them to trick and convince people to do what he told them to do. He never truly used these skills that he learned by living the lives of others to form any type of relationship simply because he had always been a lone wolf.
Never in his entire life it crossed through his mind that he would need to make use his social skills to make people have a good impression of himself.
After all, he never worried about what people thought about himself on the past.
There was only one single person that made him felt the need to change himself, but....
The moment he thought about that person and what happened in the past, his entire face darkned as bloodlust and darkness started to surround his entire being.
The bloodlust was so strong that the receptionist that was a normal human became pale and almost fainted from the intense bloodlust coming from Neo's body.
The receptionist's back was covered in cold sweat as she wondered what had made her feel dreadful and scared, like if she was prey that just entered in a predator's sight.
She glanced at Neo that was by the door.
Once her eyes locked with Neo's golden eyes, her entire body trembled as she felt fear slowly clouding her mind.
She was able to feel a wave of negative emotions corrupting her consciousness, making her feel the need to release her pent up negative emotions in someone.
Neo recovered from his situation and swiftly stopped his aura from spreading outward from his body.
Even though he wasn't a true demon, his aura still has the same effects a demon's aura has in normal humans.
Because of their completely darkened soul, their aura has a corruption effect in unprotected souls of normal humans.
The lack of Mana in the Human's souls make them unprotected against attacks directed towards their souls, such as the natural corruption effect of a demon's aura.
That's why the longer a demon stay closer to a human, the faster the human's soul would be corrupted until it completely darkened and then went through the arduous and prolonged process of demonification.
This is also one of the reasons that Ancardians hunt demons at the moment they sense their existence.
As long as a demon simply stay by a crowd of normal humans for a prolonged time, more and more demons would sprout from that crowd of people.
And even though most humans don't survive the process of demonification, the chances are a grim 1 out of 10 humans would survive the process, it was a problem for Ancardians that demons could simply multiply by simply corrupting normal humans.
Of course Neo was different from demons. He was able to control his aura and completely seal it inside his body and make it unable to leave it.
If not because he knew that he was able to control his own aura, he would never had listened to the Mad God and agreed with Elana.
He switched his cold and dangerous face to a friendly and casual smile as he approached the receptionist.
His aura changed from frosty and filled with bloodlust to a more warm and approachable.
The change was so fast that it made the receptionist think that everything that just happened was nothing but a illusion.
She glanced once again at the handsome youth with a unique color of hair, a mixture of black and white.
He seemed nothing like the bloodlust monster that she had just thought she had seen a few moments ago.
"Is there something wrong, lady?" Neo approached and asked with a concerned tone as his face went from smiling to worried.
The single woman in her thirties slightly blushed when faced with the handsome young man, Neo, that was so close to her and looking at her with his enchanting and worried eyes.
Despite his age, Neo was already tall and muscular. The few days of intense recovery really made miracles for Neo's body. Even if most of the result could only attributed to Neo's abnormal control over Mana to be able to completely lead the body to full recovery in just a short span of time.
His entire body had a atmosphere of masculinity and some hint of mysteriousness, his eyes gleamed with confidence and strength.
Completely different from his slim, skin and bones, hollow eyes, previous self.
"N-nothing..." Her voice trembled a little as she answered to Neo's question. "How can I help you?" She returned to normal after a few seconds to recompose, and was able to ask Neo, but her heart was still beating in an insane speed.
"I'm a new student here, and I kinda don't know where my class is..." Neo flashed a wide, gentle smile at the woman.
The woman was momentarily absentmindedly by Neo's smile before she recomposed herself and asked, "What's your class?"
"That..." Neo embarrassedly screeched his head while smiling. "I also don't know..."
"Oh...then... what's your name? With your name I can make a quick search in the system and find your class for you, how about it?" She asked with a polite smile in her face.
"Than I should thank you in advance. My name is Neo..."
"Neo...that's quite a unique name in this country..." She mumbled in a low voice then she glanced at Neo and asked, "What about your surname?"
"There should be no surname..." Neo answered with a mysterious smile in his face.
"Really?" The receptionist curiously glanced at Neo.
If she could guess, she would say that Neo was a foreigner, or more than that, he would be a member of those families of long lineage because of his unique characteristics such as the color of eye and hair, and also his good looks.
Well...her thoughts were spot on, even though she was unaware of how right her thoughts were.
He was indeed a foreigner, he came from Ancardia, and he also was from a family of long lineage, the Lumine Household.
[If he was able to enter in the school without the need to say his surname, then this show that his background is very powerful] The receptionist thought to herself as she searched for Neo's profile in the school's system.
"Found it." Luckily for her, there was only a single person named as Neo in the entire school, and by looking at the photo of the profile, she was certain that it was this young man in front of her. "Here it says.... first year, room...1-S!?" Her voice raised in surprise as she saw the class that he was designated.
The Gwindor school's students were separated in three years and each year was separated in 5 classrooms, from A to E, and in each classroom there was a maximum number of 30 students.
But those were for the normal students. There was a special class separated for special people, the S classrooms.
There was only one S classroom for each year, but the number of students vary from each class.
The students designated for this classrooms were different from normal students because they were usually a lot more intelligent and athletic then them.
Their scores in the exams were almost always on the top, and the athletic ones had physical abilities that leave the normal students far behind.
The dream of almost every normal student was to join the S class and be among the best of the school.
But even though that is their dream, it's almost unachievable since the S students were far ahead of them in both academics and athletics.
The receptionist was only surprise for a moment before she calmed down and glanced at the information about Neo.
Unfortunately, she unable to privy in more deep information since her post in the school was relatively low so she didn't have access to more detailed information.
However, this alone showed that Neo was indeed special. The school would only go this far to protect personal information of a student of this student was very special for the school.
The way the receptionist looked at Neo completely changed when she got to know the little information that was available to her.
Neo was able to see the change in how the receptionist was looking at him, and it made him wonder what really made her have this change of behavior.
Even though he was curious, he stood unmoved by the the table with a calm expression and a gentle smile on his face.
"This way, please." The receptionist stood up and politely motioned for Neo to follow her.
Neo silently followed behind her.
What the receptionist didn't saw was the change of expression on Neo's face the moment she turned her back to him.
He went from gentle to complete coldness and emotionless face.
[I should have went with my normal personality...] Neo complained inwardly, [Acting is way too exhausting.]
The receptionist thought she felt something and turned around to look at Neo.
But all she saw was the gentle smile in Neo's face and his calm, bright, golden eyes looking at her.
"Is there a problem, lady?" He asked her.
"No...I thought I felt something..." She shook her head and kept walking ahead, leading Neo to his classroom.
