As I sped toward my target, I was greeted with ... a hug?
It would have made more sense if my home froze over. Or if demons were nice. Not counting Lord Star, of course. He is only half-demon but the human half must have taken over. Then again, some humans are worse than demons.
But even then, Lord Star makes more sense than ... a hug. Is that how you say it?
...A few minutes earlier...
I patiently wait for the figure to come to me. Hmm, how should I greet him? Or her, it could be a her. I try not to discriminate when it comes to gender.
So do I just say hi? Or will a God find that to be too informal? How about 'Hello, Sir'? No, no, I could get the gender wrong. Do gods have a gender in the first place? Well, I will find out soon enough.
I don't want to appear too stiff or too goofy. Hmm, how about a hug. It is a very friendly gesture and will certainly put me on their good side. Perfect. I will do that.
...
We don't really use that word at home. Mistress Death hates that word for some reason. Then again, she hates everything and anything.
A hug is like...a...a... I don't know. All I know is that it is bad. And doing it is bad. And...and...it is just pure evil.
Then an idea flashes through my head. Is that measly human threatening me...with a hug? Me? A powerful grim reaper that has reaped millions of souls? WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?
...
I was about to embrace them when all of a sudden he attacked me, saying, "How dare you!" He spoke in a language I was not supposed to know. I had never heard it before yet I understood him perfectly. Or maybe I didn't understand. Did I do something wrong?
I did not have enough time to react when his scythe suddenly stopped a centimeter away from me. Sighing, I was glad he stopped. He must have recognized that I meant no harm. All I wanted was a hug. I am innocent in all ways, no? It's a good thing he recognized that.
As I was about to give a lengthy lecture about hugs, attacks, and apologies, the hooded person kneeled down in front of me and started begging for forgiveness.
