章節 4: Preparations
Troswer's House
It was already past 2 in the morning, but Diggle till wasn't sleeping. The cause of that, was the awakening of his second ability. It's been four years since he was looking to make it work, but until know, it never happened.
Strangely, even if it was his first time using it, it was like he already knew since his birth how to use it. The specifics wasn't that hard to understand contrary to his air ability which was a pain in a ass for him to control. All he know from it, was how to create blast of winds which honestly wasn't that great for ability.
His ability to create materials, was much simpler, all he had to do was joining his hand together like he was was praying and think about the material he wanted to create. So far, he deduced by number of things he create two things.
One, he can't create finish objets or alloy like a desk in steel or mug. He could just create one material at time and it will always appear in a geometric form.
Two, he could create anything. He tried to imagine creating for joking adamantium, a metal in Marvel universe. He didn't think it will work, but it miraculously worked making Diggle amazed and concocting plans for the future. But there was a problem. No matter how much he tried, he could create something of more then one meter in size, and for some materials, it was less than one meter. Furthermore using this ability was more tiring than the air making him puzzled.
<<Well that's normal. Your abilities are like a muscle, you have to train them to make them more powerful. You obviously understand that not only your ability over air are shitty when you control it, but it one the most powerful ability in the universe right? But since you only use it to blast wind, not much effort are made to push your ability to his maximum so your not that tired when using them contrary to you creating ability. That ability cruelly depend on your own strength to create object. His power calculate the limit of what your strength with your over-all capacity to could bear and convert it in the material you create. That's why you are so tired, every time you create those one meter materials, it's like you were raising weight for one second every time. I advised you to not push to much in your limits and rest >> said the voice without emotion.
Understanding more about his abilities, Diggle felt like he was finally see the way to get out of the darkness. Following the voices advice, Diggle went to sleep. But just before he's eyes shut, a sudden headache came to him "Just how the hell I'm gonna explain those popping objects to mother?"
The following days, stopped all training and start looking for a place to his headquarters like the Batcave. Because he started to realise that thanks to his ability unlocked he'll have many experiences to do, he needs a big space to do that and also his fan heart just wanted a place as cool as the batcave or The Fortress of Solitude. His strange behaviour of stopping training didn't get unnoticed by his family and while his mother just keep looking at him oddly asking if he was feeling good from time to time, Mallory on the other hand keep pestering him thinking that he didn't wanted to become a hero anymore. Having enough of her behaviour, he finally told her what he was doing, and that same time revealing her that the hero they were waiting for finally arrived. Those announcements made her grinning all day and she start to help him in his research making Marisa more suspicious on their behaviour. But no matter how much they where searching for, they couldn't find a good place. Etheir it was already taken by some punks and gangs, or either it was field bought by some company to building projects.
But two day before April, Mallory suddenly got an idea "Hey, say Dig. Why don't we just create a headquarters underground here?" "Silly, one because mom will surely found it and two, because there's the Metro under our feet. It's just impossible to create a headquarters underground in Gotham" explain Diggle while laying on the rooftop with a soda in hand. (Yeah, he never learn from his previous lessons)
"Can't we just ask aunt Marisa to buy Henry's House? He will never come back and nobody live here and its The house opposite to us. It won't be too far and there is a garden like here" Mallory said with a bit of hope, because she wanted to resume there training soon. "No, the place is too small, we need a bigger place. Unfortunately in Gotham something like that is out of our reach and we have to convince mom to buy those place from those companies. Haaaa if only I had space time something like some system novel, instead I have that shitty vo...!" and then, it's struck him. Diggle suddenly stand up and start to laugh madly before resuming a serious face while mumbling alone" But will this work?....Maybe if...Hum...I hope so.."
That strange behaviour scared Mallory not warned by that sudden madness who get his friend "Dig? Are you all right ?" The person concerned finally noticed why he did but act like nothing happened nonetheless "Yeah yeah, don't worry. And about Henry's house, I think your right. We should buy it to make it our HQ" that comment made Mallory happy "Yeahh, that's mean we will finally restart training right? Let's get down and tell mother now" Not waiting for the answer, Mallory jumped from the rooftop, but before going anywhere, she grabbed the edge of the roof with her left hand and start to balance her body parallel to the House . After doing it three times to get enough momentum, she dropped hand, sending her body forward in the direction of the lving room's balcony. She reception herself on the edge with her two feet and get down with swiftness.
It wasn't the first she did that. Since four months ago, Diggle start to teach her how to to droop jump and reception properly in any situation. He learn that himself because his used to do Parkour times to time in his previous life, so he was pretty knowledgeable in that area. And what made him surprised, was that she was pretty good in this, but one day, she did that in front of Marisa, scaring her like hell. Since then, she forbid Mallory and Dig to do that sort of thing again and start to Register Mallory at gymnastics so she could do whatever she wanted to do there with the appropriate materials in a safe place. Unfortunately that didn't stopped Mallory to do it again, but that, Marisa never knew.
Diggle followed just after her while sighing at her unafraid way of jumping around like a little monkey. When they entered in the living room, their nose got immediately assault by a delightful fragrance coming from the kitchen. When they get there, they saw Marisa fully focus in her cooking, not even bothering about the kids who get in her sanctuary.
Since the day she buy those three shops, her talent in the business world rapidly made her business flourish, and in no time, she create the most famous and popular pastry company in the state and one of the five most popular in the USA. But even then, her passion to cook never fade away with the increase in money. On the contrary.
When the kids saw her cooking, they smiled mischievously at each other and went to Marisa quietly. Because they know that when Diggle's mother was cooking was the moment her head was free of every thing and agreed to whatever they will asked.
Three days later, in the former house of their friends Henry on the second floor, the two kids were celebrating. " Hahaha. I can't believe she believe us when we said we wanted the house make it our cabin" giggled Mallory while covering her mouth. "What? She never believed us. Who would believe that? She just did that, so she don't have to bring us to the park because she believe we would passed our day here" Try to explain Diggle, but Mallory just laughed at him "Naaah that's not true. Sometimes you can be a silly Dig, our acting is just to good" she puff her chest as she proudly make her statement. But what Diggle said wasn't that far from the truth.
Her mother buy the field in one day and take another day to field it with as many toys the house could handle so it will kept them busy all the day. Because she knew that Diggle didn't like babysitters and try everything to get them retired, Marisa had to watch over them herself. If at first it wasn't that difficult, now that she's managing such a big company, it was too hard to do it. And when the kids say they wanted the house to play with, it was like salvation for her and immediately agreed. However she still attribute two guards to watch over the house in case the kids were to escape somewhere.
That didn't bothered Dig, because the guards were outside and what he wanted to do was inside. More precisely in the attic.
When he went there, all he could see was darkness because there wasn't any windows and for Dig, this was perfect. He touched the wall on his right hand side and start to count the number of step he was doing along the wall. When he made ten step, he stop and crouched himself. After that, he start to to mark the wall with a pen and goes downstairs. A few minutes later he came back with a shovel and tools and a stylish chest. He start to Dig in wall where he previously made the mark and dig a hole at the size of the chest he bring with him. The chest wasn't that big, you could probably put just a hand in it. But for Diggle this was the perfect size. After a whole day at working in the attic with the help of Mallory, they finally succeed in recessed the chest inside the hole perfectly. When they finished, Diggle Recapped the wall by creating a stone with the same colour. He then created two other mini stones of a ring size and gave one to Mallory.
"What I just created, was a metal that never existed before. As long as you have your stone with you, you can cross that wall to reach the chest. So never lose it, because it's very important item. I will ask mother to make rings from it, but until then, keep it with you. Understand?" Mallory nodded with a serious and promise to never lose it. "With this, the first step to my onw headquarter is made, I already tried to know if it work, and now all I need is time to slowly build it" Diggle thought with a devilish handsome smile making Mallory daze for a moment.
Few days later, in class, Diggle start to hear some rumour about a wingged monster attacking peoples. At first, he didn't pay attention to those rumours, but it was identified that the monster was a giant bat, Diggle start to get excited and asked his classmates to know more about it. After some discussion he confirmed it "So you finally start to move huh, Batman?" He thought as he smile.
That day, when Diggle came back to school, didn't go at the attic like usual, but in the garage to get two bikes. Out of curiosity, Mallory follow him to now what was in his mind and all she get for answer was "We will go to the superhero's house to give him a gift". It was all it takes to make her in the mood to do it.
By now, she came to understand that the Batman was the superhero Diggle keep talking about. The Savior of Gotham, The Dark Knight. But because of what she heard from the rumours about the 'monster' she hardly believed at first that it was him, but because of her trust in Diggle more than anyone else, she finally believed him. They planned their output to late in the night after their mother will pass in they room.
When the time came, Diggle get up from his bed already suit up. This time, he was wearing grey leather gauntlet, long military boots, a large pants to not be constrain by his movements and a tailor made vest looking like what Edward Kenway the Main character of Black Flag was wearing when he became an assassin. Except that this one was more modern like and grey and black in colour and most importantly, it was more lighter than the original. And he was still the black scarf of that day.
When he get out of his room, no sound was heard even from his cloth, to the point, we could mistook him as a ghost especially when he could do that while running. Even if Diggle wanted to become the white Knight of Gotham, he figured out that some stealthy skills was good to get. But let be honest he just wanted to do the thing batman always do when he disappear. It was too cool.
When Diggle opened Mallory's room he saw her sitting on the floor floor waiting for him. As him, she was wearing an assassin's coat. Because she found it stylish on Diggle she asked for one too. Other than that, she wasn't wearing anything for her hand, but had baskets and a jogging in case they had to run she explained. Other than that, she just had simple black tee-shirt.
After examining each other, Diggle indicated her to move to the window to get out "Let's go"
Diggle had already output the bikes and post them under her window, so they didn't have to get them in the garage. At soon as they went on their bike, they didn't linger around and went away.
Contrary to Diggle, it was the first time Mallory went out without Marisa knowing it. So at start it made her a little nervous, but when she saw Diggle relaxed she calm down and start enjoying the thrill of breaking the house's rules. She even start to scream loudly "I'm FREE!!" Making Diggle laugh for a while and get him in a good mood.
It took them more two hours to get to the Wayne's Manor, because even if they were stronger than normal kids, they were nonetheless kids. When they approached the Wayne manor, they didn't enter by the main gate but sneak inside with some acrobatics mean. However, they didn't go inside the Manor and just stood in front of the gate.
Diggle didn't stay idly and joined his hand. Few seconds later two sphere of adamantium and vibranium one meter in size each of them, appeared out of nowhere in front of him. "That should do the job" he comment with satisfaction before turning his head to Mallory "Packed them Mallory and leave the card behind" The latter made exactly as he ordered quickly and efficiently. Ten minutes hasn't even pass when she finished. And when her job was done, the Wrapping Paper suddenly disappeared from her hand, and at one of her hand, were two rings. And at the same time the wrapping paper disappeared that ring shine lightly for a moment.
As they were finished, they immediately retreat to their bike and few minutes later, they were already gone.
"With this gift in pledge of good faith my plans are finally completed. One or two other passage there plus the message, and he will not be able to denied my request. All I have to do is to not get caught and all will be fine" Diggle thought while grinning from ear to ear.
But what he didn't know, was that someone already saw him. Even if it was by pure luck as he was cleaning a window at that time. The man who had duty to always keep the the Manor and respond to the need of his master, the butler Alfred.

Arikawane After two to three more chapters a 'big' time skip will be made so the MC will finally stop to act in the shadow. But the next chap will be full of fight to balance so until then bear it please. ^^
