"So that's it! We have our own plan. Since our family is also scared of the Dark Emperor, they have this backup plan. Although it would be a hard life, but it's just until the selection is over, besides it's better than being in the Palace right now you know." Said Joie, the smiling girl earlier.
They explained what their own escape plans and introduced each other as they share it to me.
"Looking at your expression, you don't seems to care. Do you not want to escape?"
Resitaire looked at me, the quiet one earlier, waiting for me to speak.
"You girls have other places to go, while me, I have nowhere. They only let me go because they want to get rid of me and they happily did so by receiving money from the viscount." I said smiling. Plus I don't really have that much knowledge about this world so going to the Imperial palace is a must choice and it's not like I'll be chosen as the Empress, that would be silly. I, who died due to over work vowed to be a carefree person from now on, well not much really, I'll just care when it's related to me so yeah. I know, sounds kinda half-assed vow, but hey! I'm still new to all this alright.
"Reen... that's so sad.. I.. we..." I was snapped back to reality when I heard sobbing. I looked up to find them crying.
"Hey.. Effreila.. don't be sad," I consoled her and also the rest. They, even with unique characteristics, is still a child. They are all still in their teen age years so they are all still emotional.
After calming down, they looked at each other and then got something from their pockets and bag.
"Here, take this."
"Y-you can have this..."
"This is a little help."
I looked at them and the money their giving me, a bit stunned.
"Wait what? I can't accept this. You all might aswell save it so in your journey you'll---"
"We're fine. We all going to meet someone from our family and they will give us our expenses for the year. This is just something from our pocket money. So take it." Joie insisted and handed me 20 silvers. Resitaire followed and also gave me 20 silvers, while Effreila gave me 40 silvers.
"I... I don't know what to say... thank you.." I sincerely thanked them. This is just my first day in this world but I already met such wonderful people.
"Hehe.. You're welcome! You should eat more! You're so skinny now, but your skin is flawless! and you have a beautiful face, even rivaling those two in the front from wealthy Clans." Joie said as she touches my hand and examine it.
"We should eat later in a restaurant, when we stopped over for the night to celebrate this day... " Resitaire said with a bit of embarrassment. Joie noticed this and frowned a bit before clearing up and smiling ear to ear
"Yup! This day, we are all friends! No matter what happened to us after the selection I am sure we're all gonna meet and we will still be all friends!" Joie said happily. Effreila smiled and as if she thought of something.
"Y-yes! Reen can possibly be selected--no.. she will be selected and can possibly be the mother of the Empire... to be the Empress!" Effreila said full of hope. Joie and Resitaire looked at Effreila then me and nodded.
I just sighed. That seemingly impossible if you asked me.
