They sat there a while both of them with about a million questions running through their minds and neither daring to speak first. Him wanting to know what it was about her that made him want to protect her; her wondering why he was helping her? What was his motive? Why is she all alone? And with him being a vampire why the hell does she feel so safe with him? As she finishes the second flagon of grog he stands up to leave, planning to go without a farewell. He gets to the door and she has noticed that he is leaving. Her heart stammers within her chest and she gets up to follow him, without any clue as to why. She wrapped his cloak tightly around her and walked out the door just in time to see him disappear around the corner. She intended to follow him but she in her naivety thought that she would be undiscovered. She followed him for a day and a half before she followed him into an alley in the next town. She entered the alley not knowing why. As she got to the dead end of the alley, wondering where he'd disappeared to, she found herself against the wall. As she stared into his eyes, she wondered how he knew she was there. She found herself undeniably attracted to him, and unconsciously gazed at his lips wondering how they would feel against hers.
He knew she was following him but didn't know why. As he pinned her against the wall of that cold, dark alley intending to question her, he found her gaze unsettling. She was staring at his face looking like she was going to pass out. She closed her eyes, he took in her facial features and found himself looking at her plump lips. Overcome, he kissed her, his kiss anything but gentle. It was harsh and demanding, requiring total surrender. He pulled himself away and walked out of the alley, completely confused.
