He stood in the living room waiting patiently for Tang Jiang at the same time scrolling through his phone. He heard the gentle sound of soft feet running down the stairs, and as he raised his head, his eyes met with the most beautiful pair of brown eyes he had ever seen, and his breath caught in his throat, his heart beating heavily.
He had never seen such a beauty before, although he had come across various women in his lifetime, there was none quite like this one. He didn't know which captivated him the most; her simple and innocent looks or the way her eyes sparkled when the light reflected on it as if singing a sweet little song to the fairest of hearts.
Never minding the fact that their eyes met for a split second, Lu Xiang believed that he had memorized every inch of her eyes. When she drew her eyes away, Lu Xiang couldn't help but follow her slim figure as it retreated into the kitchen. He hadn't realized that he had been staring until Tang Jiang spoke up;
"Uhm Lu Xiang? what are you... what are you doing?"
He shook his head as if to free himself from the enchantment, looked at Lu Xiang with a lost expression; "I don't understand;"
"You were just staring at the wall, in a... weird kind of way;"
Taken aback, Lu Xiang replied; "Oh, probably just lost in thoughts;"
"Hmmm, Ok then, my friends are leaving now, and its nearly time, so shall we?"
Lu Xiang merely nodded his head as a response.
In the car...
The only thing that could be heard was the frequent tapping sound coming from Tang Jiang, and the gentle humming coming from the AC.
Lu Xiang was at the wheels and drove at a constant speed, lots of thoughts crossing his mind. He was debating asking Tang Jiang the question that had been bugging him ever since they left the house.
He tapped the wheels as he thought this over extensively in his mind, before finally giving in, he cleared his throat and said; "I saw a girl back at your house, who was that?"
Tang Jiang rose his head to look at Lu Xiang for a second before returning his view to his phone; "She's my little sister."
Lu Xiang merely gave an 'Ok' as his reply.
The sun was already gone by the time they'd reached the hotel. They asked the receptionist for the directions to the room they'd rented. On entering, they found that most of the guys were already there.
After Qin Jun had given his speech, he walked up to Tang Jiang,
"Thanks for the toast"; Tang Jiang said as Qing Jun approached;
"Its no problem, I'm really happy for you guys and I honestly hope that you succeed. I saw your little sis today, she has really grown since the last time I saw her, she's matured alot,"
"Yeah;" Tang Jiang responded in a suspicious kind of way.
"She's really pretty now, becoming a young woman:"
Not knowing how to respond, Tang Jiang just gave a "Hmmm."
"I can't believe she's going to graduate this year, that's really good, she asked me to help her with a project, isn't that great, I'm thinking may be we'll hit it off, she seemed a little interested in me, what do you think, do I have a chance with her?"
"Uhm...."
Just then, one of the other guys called for Qing Jun, so he had to go, leaving Tang Jiang in a transfixed situation. That was truly the weirdest conversation he had ever had, Qing Jun proved to be an unusual guy, Tang Jiang wondered if he realised that Tang An was his sister.
Lu Xiang who had overheard the whole conversation had a feeling of discomfort hovering over him. He walked up to Tang Jiang and told him that he was leaving, offering him a ride home, not waiting for a reply walked out the door and towards the car.
Tang Jiang waved at his friends as he hurried out following Lu Xiang. He wondered what had pissed him off to leave him with such a cold aura. His face was hard stoned, even icier than his usual expression.
They waited for an attendant to bring out the car, when the car was brought out, Lu Xiang didn't waste anytime before entering the car.
Lu Xiang who had been quiet all through the trip suddenly spoke up and said to Tang Jiang; "would you mind if I stayed over at your house for a while?I think it would be better for me since you live closer to town and I live so far away".
Tang Jiang told him that he'd have to ask his parents first.
Lu Xiang was pleased with this reply because he knew that Tang Jiang's parents would agree. Tang Jiang's dad and his dad were entering into a business partnership which they'd been working on for years. This was the business that him and Tang Jiang were venturing into, it was set up by their parents as a partnership between Lu Corporations and Tang Enterprises.
Lu Corporations was a family business started by Lu Xiang's great grand father it was one of the oldest companies in China, one of the most successful and ranked among the tops in China earning an average of over 55 billion U.S dollars annually.
Tang Enterprises was also among the top ranked in China although they were not earning as much as Lu Corporations.
The partnership was a big deal on both parties and they entrusted the running of it to their heirs, being Lu Xiang of Lu Corporations and Tang Jiang of Tang Enterprises. The partnership was just a test for them set up by their fathers to evaluate their abilities as potential CEO's of the respective companies.
Lu Corporation dealt mainly in constructions and buildings although they had other side businesses. It had various branches worldwide, which was basically why they earned so much.
Tang Enterprises was very vast and had its fingers in various businesses although it started as a borehole company it diversified and is known around China for many things.
The companies were partnering to create a new business of home security. It seemed to be a huge demand in China as many people begin to fall back on technological security.
Lu Xiang was very sure that Tang Jiang's parents would concede mostly because of the partnership. Although he had only met Tang Jiang's dad on one occasion, he was certain that he would approve of his partners son staying over for a while.
Lu Xiang dropped Tang Jiang at his house and as he sped off he looked into his rear view mirror and saw Tang An run out of the house to hug Tang Jiang.
His next destination was his father's mansion which was at the other side of town. The roads had become scanty as it was late at night. He pulled up in front of the house and handed his keys to one of the drivers.
