章節 18: You almost die!
After calming down herself Melissa put Little Dumpling to bed for his afternoon nap. Then, she took her car keys and sped off to the Chong's mansion.She did not realize that Derek was still outside her house peaking at her.
When she drove off. Derek followed her. He had no idea where is she going. This time, Emma spotted that someone was trailing behind her car. She saw the car number plate. Who's car is that she thought.
Suddenly, there was a sound of a gunshot. Emma realize that she can't control her car anymore. So, she drifted. She tried her best to stop her car before she hit the barrier.
Derek was shocked. He quickly find a spot and stop his car. He too realize that someone, other than him is trailing behind Emma's car. Then someone got out from the car. He saw that person was holding a gun and walking towards Emma! Without hesitation,he quickly ran to Emma's car and asked her to get out.
Emma can't feel her legs. She was so shocked that she can't feel her legs. Derek carried her out from the car and put her down in his car. That person aimed the gun at Derek and said "Give her to me or else both of you will die together!" Suddenly, that guy's phone rang. "Hello, Miss Chong. Yes. Yes. Our plan is going well. Ok, bye. "
Derek looked at him and say, "Who's that Miss Chong on the phone? And how much did she pay you to do this? " He laughed and said"Since you are going to die anyway,let me tell you. She's Melissa from the Chong family. And she paid me twenty million dollars to kill that woman."
Derek never expected that the Chongs will do such things. Just because he cancelled the engagement, they wanted to take someone's life? Derek then said"Hey mister, why not I give you double and you just act like nothing happened and tell your so called Miss Melissa Chong that you had accomplished your mission. Deal?"
That guy looked at Derek and said "Ok fine. " After giving him the cheque, that guy left. Derek pick up his phone and called his secretary to check that guy's background. Then he called Melissa Chong " I'm coming to your house right now. " Then he hung up his phone.
He get into his car. Emma put on a brave face and asked him"Why do you want to save me? "He stared at her and said "Do you know you almost die? "Then he helped her to fasten her seatbelt and sped off to the Chong's mansion.
