Sometimes I wonder if my phone is really just a phone
What if it is my sister or my imaginary lover
It always is either sleeping or whispering to me
Staring blankly at me as I hug it
Warming to the touch when at feeding time
It chirps to me when it wants me to know the latest news
CoronaVirus It screams at me
Stay Indoors It alerts me
Beware it will drop to freezing point over the weekend
It tells me
Sometimes I wonder if my phone is just a phone
With a calm demeanor it hugs my skin as I silently weep in seclusion
Away from the ones I love
We are both locked away in our own world
The phone and I
What if it is my sister or my imaginary lover
It always is either sleeping or whispering to me
Sometimes we experience sickness and need to take a long nap
Staring blankly at me as I hug it
Be strong I whisper to it
Warming to the touch when at feeding time
When the weather gets bad it warns me to stay indoors
CoronaVirus It screams at me
Stay Indoors It alerts me
So we both stay indoors
The phone and I slowly age
It gets a few more scratches on its face
While I slowly gray and develop a more mature sense in life
Sometimes I wonder if my phone is really just a phone
What if it is my sister or my imaginary lover
If it be my imaginary lover
It keeps me company 24/7
Counciling me and leaving me breathless
When it tells me stories
Sometimes I wonder if my phone is really just a phone
Perhaps it is what can bring me to the ones I love best
And whispers to me Be Careful those others are like a virus.
