Gladys MacLeish arrived at the gates of Clan Home the following afternoon. Behind the rented van with the overly excited researchers were two black SUV's. The first containing security guards carrying the priceless crown and following them was Charlene Winston and Agent Barney Doss. Charlene had decided since Doss had missed all the action the first time he should be allowed in on this final act of the circus.
The gate guard checked in everyone from the van and asked them to wait for an escort. He then spoke to the feds asking them to await the escort. Finally he approached the security detail. "I don't suppose you can give that head piece to just anybody, huh?" As expected it had to be handed over directly to Ms. Cally Wotan. He sighed and scratched his head. The guards heard muttering but could not make out what he said, which was, "I wonder who will show up?"
Marcus, James Holmes and Sarah arrived in a timely manner in two club cars. Sarah greeted her 'sister', Gladys and explained to the researchers they would be following her to the archives and research building. The lawyer went to the FBI agents and invited them to join him in his club car. Marcus stood staring at the security detail without speaking. Finally what almost sounded like big band / futuristic music was heard approaching. Everyone without exception tilted their heads to hear better and try to place the familiar music. As Cally came into view on her segway they could finally hear 'Meet George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy' and with perfect timing Cally stopped at the gates.
Cally had her honey blonde hair in an up do with a black bow. She was wearing two colors of pink. Her shirt was a zip front top in light pink with a dark pink extra large collar, matching light pink mini skirt, dark pink leggings, black ballerina slippers and two tone pink wristlets. Marcus was staring at her bare midriff. He then turned a frosty gaze at the stunned security guards.
"Marcus did you bring it?" Marcus glanced at the pink confection walking towards him. 'How many more costumes had she bought?' "Of course." He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a passport. Taking it, Cally gave a quick look inside and walked up to the guards who had her crown. Flipping open her passport like she was in a detective show she asked in a deep voice, "You got the goods?"
The security detail had never encountered anything like this situation. But being professionals they exited their SUV, inspected her credentials newly minted this morning and proceeded to unload the original wooden trunk that was specially designed for the crown. They had Cally sign a receipt and handed over the box. Then she freaked out everyone by tossing it to Marcus. Except Marcus. He wasn't surprised because there wasn't room on the segway since she had added a sound system.
"Marcus, you'll handle this for me? I have a date." Marcus became more rigid, with an under lying barely contained violence, "Date?" "Um yes. Story time at the school. I've got to hurry." She then jumped on her segway, turned on her theme music and sped away with everyone watching. What do rational people say when confronted with that? Gladys laughed and told her team, "That was Cally Wotan. She sometimes has more money than sense."
The security provided by Sotheby's left. The FBI transferred to a club car and Marcus passed the crown over to Sarah. "I'm going back to Guild Hall with James and the feds. You handle Gladys and our other guests." With that she had no choice but to take a priceless, irreplaceable 13th century crown and tuck it beside her on a glorified golf cart. Turning to the researchers who were still shocked by this chain of events. She smiled reassuringly and said "Follow me to Never Never land."

'Much ado about nothing', so what was I saying with the title? Cally cares about the crown but currently not as much as her new segway. She probably has thousands of precious things. But in her grand scheme of things it's not so important.
