Anna leaves the room quietly without disturbing Giselle.
She reaches Lillian's room and knocks on the door. After hearing no response for a while, Anna let herself in.
Anna entered to room and noticed that the lights were still on. She found Lillian on her bed, resting with her hands behind her head and eyes still wide open.
Lillian Grey catches a glimpse of Anna and then returned her gaze to the ceiling.
Anna's nerves ticked off from Lillian's disdain. She rolled her eyes and looked around to find Mindy not there.
"Where is Mindy?" Anna asked, raising her voice enough to reach the slacking off, Lillian Grey.
"She is with her friends," Lillian answered.
Slightly nodding to the situation which is favorable to Anna for her visit, she approached the dormant Lillian and sat next to her. Lillian Grey didn't bother to react and kept staring the void space. Anna can notice Lillian Grey's low-spirit sulking energy lingering around her.
Anna waited for a response soon or later but watching how Lillian behaved as if there's no Anna in the room, made Anna furious. She controlled herself from erupting. The reason she came here to visit Lillian is to have a proper conversation without any trouble.
Anna sighed.
"Lilly," Anna calls her softly.
Instead of responding, Lillian flickers her eyes to show her attention. Being friends with her, Anna can read Lillian's behavior.
"Was it you who did that to Mike?" Anna asks.
Unlike Diego, Anna did not appear to be hostile while inquiring.
"Yes," Lillian responds without sparring a look at her friend.
Lillian didn't even faze from the sudden interrogation. It is as if she suspected it from Anna already, but when she replied, her voice exposed Lillian's turmoil as if Anna would judge her like Diego.
"Did Diego saw you beating the hell out of Mike?" Anna continued asking without aching for any explanation.
"Yes."
Anna's guesses are becoming facts with every reply Lillian Grey gave. It's so becoming a reality that Anna felt sad underneath. Without hiding it anymore, Anna blurts out the next question.
"Did something happen between you and Diego?"
Anna's question concerned Lillian Grey; she gazed down for a flick second and then moved back to the ceiling.
If that ceiling had a soul, it would have been penetrated, by now with the number of stares it endured from Lillian Grey.
She didn't respond or react but remained still. Anna took that as a 'yes, something shitty business happened between Diego and Lillian.'
Anna moved on to her final question of this whole meeting.
"Why are you avoiding Giselle?"
As soon as the question popped out, Lillian moved her gaze to Anna, staring at her intently.
Throughout the whole time, Lillian Grey never looked at Anna except for this moment. Despite anticipating Anna's interrogation, this question bothered Lillian to another level.
Why?
Lillian knows that she avoided Giselle openly for the whole day and also Lillian is not being herself too. She knew, and it still bothered her.
When Anna finally caught Lillian's gaze fall on her, she saw the insecurities covering her orbs.
'Shit this is serious,' Anna thought.
Anna felt Lillian battling within herself, with her emotions and contradictions. It saddened Anna to see her friend in such a state.
Lillian Grey is emotionally battling with herself, and it made Anna weak from seeing her.
'Why is she having such an expression on her face, this idiot?'
'Why are you like this, Lilly?'
'What is happening to you?'
Anna exploded inside from seeing her friend in such a state.
A charming, lively girl defeated and destroyed. Anna knew it was because of Giselle. Diego must have said something that triggered Lillian to such an extent of controlling herself from talking to Giselle and to the point of avoiding her openly.
But, what did he say to Lillian? – this question haunted Anna.
Regardless of it, as her friend, Anna cannot let this go. She took a deep breath before pouring her emotions to Lillian Grey.
"Lilly, you know, right?"
"Giselle has become someone important in your life."
"I know that she entered your life recently, but her presence is making you go insane."
Lillian Grey's gaze returned to the ceiling yet didn't falter from the words she kept overhearing.
"I don't have to mention this, but you are insanely obsessed with her in your actions."
Anna saw Lilly's lashes flutter, reacting to her remarks.
It placed an enormous burden on Anna to continue further on that topic. However, as her friend, she felt the need to convey her point of view to Lillian Grey. Because if not, Lillian would end up not only hurting Giselle but herself too. It might even ruin the trio's friendship.
At all cost, Anna never wishes for that to ever happen in their lives. She chose to tell Lillian, the other side of the picture she's missing to recognize.
"Please tell me that you have noticed it!"
"Please, Lilly!"
"You were not able to part ways with her. I understand that you have a sense of protection over her with all that occurred to her in the past, but-"
Anna hesitated, exhaling light breaths to keep her composure steady.
"But, you don't realize the consequence of it, I think."
Anna stopped, expecting some reaction from Lillian Grey, but it didn't happen.
All Lillian did was to stay quiet, listening to every word Anna utters.
Now, this is supposed to be a single chapter, but as I kept writing it, I realized it was long, and so, I have to cut them into two separate files.
Anna and Lillian have a deep conversation. More like, Anna alone talks deep with Lillian Grey!
