章節 27: A Long Odyssey

Five whole months had passed since Clain left to search for Nyla, he frequented his flower calls with the General but never asked to speak with Kavira. She would spent her days training hard with Linx, she mastered using her dao broadswords, a longbow in both long and short range combat, a single and double dagger fighting style. Today was the day that she would finally present her dragon staff to Linx to find out what it is capable of doing.

Linx had decided it wasn't safe to use the staff within city grounds, they would climb the back mountains for a secluded location and train there for the mean time. By the time she was done with breakfast and ready to journey out into the mountains, Linx was outside the back door of the Generals house waiting for her.

He never seemed to be amazed at how beautiful she was everyday, even during her times of the month she was still as gentle and calm. The only time she ever changed from happy expression was at the mention of Clain. "Good morning. You ready?"

Linx notice that Kavira's back leather harness was carrying the silver staff, after her training she decided on a much lighter armor than Clain originally wanted for her. She chose a leather corset with leather boots, she decided to omit any pants or heavy skirt since she felt more comfortable in her movements so instead she was a short tunic to cover some of her legs. "Ready as ever." She smiled and took Linx's hand walking up to the mountain together.

Clain held onto the girls waist, he hadn't controlled his liquor and all he could see was Kavira's face on whoever he was with. He leaned in to kiss the girl but she stopped his lips and removed herself from his embrace.

He wasn't in his right mind, why would he come here and drink so much anyways. Nyla had heard that a true warrior from Dark City was passing by the in the highlands. She was hoping that it was her brother but when she found a drunk Clain at the bar she felt even happier except that this wasn't what she was expecting.

He was pushing himself onto her but he was completely intoxicated, she was much too prideful to allow him to lay with her when she knew he wouldn't remember her. "Clain just lay down and get some rest. I'll sleep on the chair, okay?"

Instead of agreeing, Clain came onto her more aggressively taking her head into his hands and kissing her forcefully. "You will not leave me. You belong with me, Linx can never give you what I can."

He released Nyla from his hold, placed his hands on his head before becoming emotionally vulnerable. "I'm sorry Kavira. I'm so sorry."

Nyla couldn't help but feel disgust, the strong silent man that she loved since she was twelve had just stole her first kiss and then called out for another woman. She wanted to take control, to make him pay by laying with him but she couldn't. She truly loved him so she took him into her arms instead and waited until he fell asleep.

When morning came Clain woke up to find himself in bed with another woman, today he was fully clothed compared to other nights. He stood up to check and see if his money, weapons and messaging flower were still in his sack. He didn't take the time to look at the girl sleeping next to him, he didn't care, he grabbed his things and walked out of the small room, down to the pub.

He decided on ordering a small to go meal and was waiting for the food to come when he saw a woman with blonde silvery hair and gray eyes looking right at him. He spent five months looking for Nyla thinking she was abducted and being taken to many different places but she looked just fine to him.

"Where were you planning to go without me?" She pulled in closer to his body stealing kiss from Clain's lips. "I'm ready to go when you are."

"Were you the one sleeping next to me?" Nyla smirked flirtatiously placing her hands on his shirt that was slightly open on his chest, holding onto the cloth she pushed herself closer to him.

"I'm the one that's going to travel with you back to Dark City. There's so much we need to discuss and that information is unimportant."

She knew it was time to be upfront able her feelings for his but she also wasn't about to give him control over her. They waited on the food before leaving and heading west towards Dark City.
